Should I keep going at it? Or expand to new products?

Hey,

I have just started affiliate marketing and I have made myself a website, it gets around 30-50 clicks on the affiliate link per day with around the same visits per day from a range of different keywords. I have got overall about 700 clicks on the link and not one of them converted, I am worried that this website will not be sustainable and it will be a waste of money, what should I do from the choices below?

  • Should I keep going at it and get some SEO work done on the site so it ranks better and gets more visits? They will then convert.

  • Should I keep going at it but don't spend much time on it, just do some posts here and there

  • Should I expand what I am doing and get more affiliate products in there

  • Should I give up and sell the site?

Please pick one you think would be the most sensible and be sure to give me an explanation.

Thanks alot.

How can anyone possibly form an opinion about this without seeing the site?!

Maybe the affiliate landing page isn't that convincing to buy. Your website might be but if the website they end up on isn't, then that's where it stops.

Hey, check the link and see for yourself.

Maybe I could make a landing page and post it on blogs etc promoting other people's products using sub domains?

      Thanks.

Ooh, sorry, have seen this - I didn't realise this was an "affiliate site". I see now that it is.

Yes, I see what you mean ...

These 700 visits that you've had: these are (mostly) visitors from Google searches, right? What sort of keywords were they searching for? How sure are we that they were genuinely potential buyers for a "fiverr clone script"?

(Is the name "fiverr" trademarked, dare I ask? ).

What did you think it was before? An ad based site?

Yes, they were mostly purchasing keywords! Such as "best fiverr script" I have had visits from this keyword and this should be a buying keyword. Although there are few that aren't absolutely in the mind frame of purchasing, its 50/50 with those ones.

And Yes, I think it is. But Fiverr tend not to be too strict with domains, let alone long ones like mine. Although if it was something like fiverrscript.com then yes, this would be probably seized.

        Thanks.

No, sorry ... I looked at it (only briefly!) the other day, when you started a thread about it, and thought it was a site on which you were selling/promoting your own product. Apologies.

          Yes ... sounds like.

The thing that springs to mind, looking at your site, is to wonder whether you'd be better trying to sign them up. I see that you have a link to a "sign-up" page and are offering a "free report" in exchange for their email address, but I wonder what proportion of your 700 visitors noticed, and whether you'd do better with a really prominently incentivized opt-in displayed across the top of the landing-page?

I can only really sell affiliate products by list-building, and I'm guessing that not many are opting in, on your site?

700 clicks and no conversions? You should expect way better. I usually aim for a minimum of 5% but if you have 700 clicks and no conversions then its a sign that your visitors are not finding what you have to offer very attractive. Rewrite sales pitch or squeeze text to increase the conversion rate.

Hm, maybe I should try and mix a few different ones up instead of promoting mostly just one?

    Thanks.
