Travel niche monetisation?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm getting a lot of visitors to a travel niche site. Currently the only revenue stream is adsense but I would like to think about extra monetisation...

Some of the ideas I have implemented:
- Package Holiday affiliates (no sales!)
- Skyscanner affiliate (not done any sales!)

I'm looking for additional things I could sell? Especially things such as E-Books etc?

Has anyone got any ideas for products for a specific travel location niche?

Any examples of sites would also be great.

Have you tried TradeDoubler? They have some good affiliate offers in Portugal, maybe they have similar stuff for your market. Over here they have really good stuff for traveling websites, especially airline offers.

You can try Expedia's Program Overview
They're running their affiliate program mainly on Commission Junction.

There's also Hotel Affiliate Program - Hotels Combined ®

Plus, like Fernando said, spy on your competition and see how they're making money

You can also create a guide, and sell it. People love them, especially the audio guides.

How about creating your own ebook? Write it well, totally about travel, create a brand, your own style and all =)

  I second this idea, what locations does your site refer to? Maybe you can create a travel guide for your visitors about others past experiences to the destinations. I'm sure you can find a ton of people in travel forums willing to talk about their trips.

  Go to CJ! There are plenty of offers for travel niche! Many affiliates based on leads and not on sales! Also look for travel guides for amazon, travel insurance and luggage! There are lot of options around for travel niche!
