Inexperienced I am, dumb questions assured!

I have a site that is ranking well for just one product and the domain name is the product name. The product is not discontinued. Is my site finished with?

It's an electrical item, is there a way i can promote other similar items and not lose the sites ranking?

I am new and stuck with this one.

I suppose it depends on what sort of site it is. But in general, I'd just add more pages about other products.

Even if the site was built particularly for one product, nothing
stops you from adding other related products to the site.

But then again, if really there is no future with the site and you
haven't spent too much time on it, perhaps it's time to let it
go and move on. Lesson learnt is not to focus on a particular
product when building a site, especially when you are not sure
of the future of the product.

In my opinion, you can just add another site to it and make sure that its
content is SEO-friendly. If you scare of losing the sites ranking, you can
just get more backlinks or get a cheap SEO service. There is nothing to be
    afraid of.

Just try another product, maybe it is hard to do so, but I don't think you will lose the sites ranking

I do not know this electrical item you are promoting, but you can look for alternative products and promote them within your website.

Do not get concerned too much about rankings. Provide good value to your visitors and make sure that you post things people are looking for.

If you are planning to promote other products, perhaps it's a good idea to register a new domain name that's going to explore other products (but you'll start from zero).

I personally start with a fresh site with a new product, but look on the bright side - you have a site already to provide links

A better strategy would be to take a separate domain for each of your products. If your site is already established and Google has visited it, then it has already decided what it is about and forcing Google to think otherwise may be a long-term battle.

I think it is a good idea to build a site around a particular product name. I bought a wso that teaches exactly this method. there is a whole process where you build a wordpress blog around a niche product. You select the name of the product as your domain name. mainly with the .net or .org extension. Write 5 articles and schedule them to go out every 3 or 4 days. Leave it for a while and see what happens.
