Advice on promoting our fitness guide

Hi Everyone

Between myself and my brother, we have years of experience with weigh training, weight loss and all sorts of areas such as circuit training, kickboxing etc

Dave has written a comprehensive guide to low carb diets incorporating high protein eating which we know for a fact helps lose weight very fast

Does anyone have any tips on how to start our promotion online?

The content is inline with truthaboutabs and competiton does not put us off as we know out stuff fitness wise.

The site is in progress but would you start with SEO or build a PPC business as SEO takes so long?

Thanks everyone

Dave

  • Hi Dave,

SEO doesn't necessarily take long, it depends on what keywords you're targeting. Go for the "long tail keywords" first like "weight training for athletes who like dogs but not bananas" because they will have very little competition and will get you traffic sooner.

You'll probably want to use PPC as well, just make sure you test it and always tweak and improve. My favorite by far is Facebook PPC because it is super-niche targeted and not only can you build your list through a custom facebook page with an opt-in form, but you can also get the fan base built up so you have fans sharing your stuff.

I'd be happy to look at your product and possibly be an affiliate or do a JV with you as I'm in the nutrition, health and weight loss niche myself. Send me a PM.

Hi Tom (Sorry if that's not your name)

I wouldn't of thought of Facebook, I can't stand seeing ads there as a user so will look into it

When the site is done and the product is ready (few weeks) then I will certainly drop you the details

Would be happy to return the offer with some kind of upsell/downsell with the funnel we produce this end

Thanks for your feedback, will look at small seo keywords

If you can stand using Facebook adds why not build a fan page and drive PPC ads to your fan page. The benefits of this is that you can build a fan base of prospects interested in your products or services and if you have an opt-in form on one of your pages you can build an email list.

Building a fan base on Facebook is great because then with engaging content you can reach out to these people's friends.

Building a fan page is easy by the way and needs no technical programming skills. PM me for more details.

Weighttrainer, instead of driving traffic to your facebook fan page and hope that they find your opt-in box... why not use PPC to drive visitors directly to your opt-in page? You'll get alot more opt-in subscribers this way, and you can deliver information to their inbox every few days, with the high possibly of having them clicking on your website link and ordering your fitness guide.

My suggestion... Facebook PPC to Squeeze Page (build list, build relationship, then sell).

I built an extremely large list off of Facebook. Also, just to inform you, if you don't like the ads, you may be in for a surprise. Facebook has announced that in the first quarter of 2012, they are going to start putting ads in your news feed. No running from them now. lol. Best of luck my friend.
