Is AlertPay Reliable?

Guys! I am planning to sell all of those PLR packages for less. Everything is done, all I need is a payment gate way.

AlertPay offers 0 setup fee to start selling
2CheckOut asks $50/domain to start
Clickbank asks $50/product

Ugh... I am so nervous. I dont want to put a lot of money before I make some.

I heard AlertPay is fraud. Is that right?

I have total 8 PLR products that I want to sell on different sales pages. which means I will have to pay $400 to clickbank being my payment gateway.

On the other hand 2Checkout is asking for $50 for a single domain and I can set up many sales pages on that domain.

Please guide!

I've had an AlertPay account for over 3 years now and like them very much.

I've had absolutely no difficulties or problems using their service at all, inclduing withdrawing money quickly and efficiently to my bank whenever I've wanted to.

Their customer service seems to me to be far better and far friendlier and more co-operative than PayPal's.

It's true, of course, that not nearly so many customers have heard of them, as have heard of PayPal. I'd suggest that anyone collecting AlertPay payments should make it really clear in their sales materials that customers don't need to have, or to open, an account with them, to pay that way.

From my own experience, I happily recommend them.

    No.

    It isn't right at all.

Unfortunately, they have at various times handled the payment-processing for some "online MLM-style" scams and even some glorified "cash-gifting schemes" (:p), with whom no other online payment-processor was willing to deal, including - I believe - one or two which have been closed down by court orders. I think their reputation may have been a little tarnished, in some quarters, by those little episodes. They themselves, however, are not a fraud.

If somebody takes AlertPay to a court for their massive problems with customers, then they are closing for sure.

There are great methods that are realible like paypal and moneybookers.

    Good luck

I tried to set up a legitimate Alertpay account last month and they claimed they cannot accept credit cards. I then tried to wire the money to their account through a Bank Of America account. I could not do this either.

Seems the only way you can fund an Alertpay account is by sending it to them in the mail. Seems fishy to me.

I called AlertPay on the phone (to Canada). They said they were currently having difficulties processing credit card and bank transactions. This was about a month ago.

I think they are legit. They have a customer service department too.

I use Alertpay and so far all was fine and well. It is a good and easy to use payment processor similiar to Paypal. In general I like Alertpay.
Just now that they have some problems with credit card account funding its a hassle because my account and some subscription I had running is funded via automatic credit card payment.
I hope they sort that credit card issue out soon...

They MAY have been legitimate in the past, but I believe those days are over

alertpay does chargebacks. they aren't 'a scam' but if selling something you don't want to get ripped on like e-currency you don't accept alertpay for payment since the buyer can reverse the transaction later like paypal

go with adyen or some other payment gateway that just charges per transaction with no setup fee. they have like 200 different payment methods in one checkout from cash in store for south america and Alipay in China.

I spoke with AlertPay early this morning and they don't anticipate having their Credit Card and US Bank transfer issues resolved anytime before February 2012. When I asked if it would be the beginning or end of February - he wouldn't commit to anything - yikes!

I have several affiliate programs that pay me through Alertpay. There has never been a problem withdrawing funds - they mail checks promptly which arrive within 10 days. Other options such as bank or credit card withdrawals are disabled until those issues are resolved.

I'd advise you stay clear of alertpay till they resolve their credit card issues. I think they still have problems with accepting Visacards

As long as you aren't selling information on how to make money, than I'd go with 2CheckOut. Clickbank is nice too but you're force to refund with them.

    My vote is 2checkout.

Do your research. I mean, really do it. If any of you really knew the owners, you probably would not do business with them.

Doesn't anyone remember the old scam MLM's? Can you say 'Ferhan'?

Is there not anyone here that was here in the old doubler and fast cycler days? Again, can you say Ferhan?

Have you not read the recent articles out there?

My suggestion, you may want to use google checkout for processing visa/mastercard.

@rusty1027 it is correct it will be a long while for the credit card processing. Being as though I have worked in a bank and so some of my family members are still employed by the banking industry.....people don't understand the "credit card" processing of things. Those funds could be immediately deleted from your account but the "said" receiving company or "payee" does not receive it for anywhere from 3-7 business days now. That is the difference between "cleared funds" and "pending" transactions. Some small banks still honor the customer loyalty codes if they come in with various checks to cash but credit cards are worldwide and come from various sources. They have had three "big companies" to my knowledge that were signing up people left and right like a swarm of army ants only to have numerous charge backs because the companies were not shipping the products fast enough. True not the customers fault but just the same "people are impatient" therefore alertpay wanted "clear funds" at all times. As far as bank wires.....if anyone remembers their bank sending out letters beginning of the year with no more "honor system" or "check protect" as it is called in some areas....some banks were still approving that for favorable accounts that never showed "neg marks"....that was abused and now gone. Get the picture of the scrutiny here.
@valerie.....alertpay is no different then your own bank. I hate to say it but until someone can prove otherwise of scrupulous and malicious matters going on.....it runs until found out. I don't believe alertpay knew the whole child stuff was going on. We have found many people to come into our bank and have their EIN numbers and business license up under different names and when they open an account....how were we to know what the actual content of the site posed? We didn't until it was made known to us and then "measures" were taken then. How many times have you seen someone change content on their sites? Too many times to count. So, please take that in consideration before someone states that they are "in that loop" or "conspiring with". The reason I say this is because alertpay does not wait until a company has many complaints against them.....they jump from the first one! I know....been there. Just my two cents.

    Hopes this helps........
