Getting lots of advertising requests on my blog- need help managing it all.

Ok, since last year that my blog started ranking for my top keyword, I have been getting lots of advertising request and I do have a few spots for advertising on the blog. I have been dealing with the requests, payment, reminders and all of that through email myself.

But, as the blog ranks for more and more keywords, I am getting more and more requests and it just gets so time-consuming to manage all of that. And unfortunately sometimes I end up having some empty spots while at the same time I have 5 interested advertisers lined up.

Is there any tool, software or plugin that you guys use or know that can help automate, semi automate or at least help in managing ads in a easier faster way? Something that would not require me spending a lot of time communicating, sending invoices, reminding people, waiting for people to pay so I can make sure the spots gets filled and all the other stuff?....

I would appreciate any help, suggestion or advice. Thank you.

Have you considered using a 3rd party service? Buysellads.com and TextLinkAds | The Leader in Text Link Search Engine Optimization are pretty effective in (auto) management. I believe both offer a worpress plug-in as well.

Buysellads.com will fit your site nicely.

Advertisers can pay for ads directly on your website and they will handle all the rebills etc.

I don't have an answer, but thanks for asking the question as it's a problem I have with one of my sites. I've resorted to an annual cycle on that site. 1 Feb is the day all ads fall due for renewal, so I can email everyone once a year.

It would be great if there was an easier way though. Even if I set up Paypal annual rebilling, I would still have to remove the ads manually.

I've taken a look at buysellads, but I don't think that would work for smaller, local advertisers. I'm going to join, though, 'cos it could be useful for other sites.

You had better manage using a good software like OIA publisher plugin to take the full income without a middle man

@Monsur - that looks interesting. I'd never heard of it before. Have you used it?

A third party adserver comes to mind...buysellads should help you automate that

I use the software monsur mentioned (but it's actually OIO Publisher).

You can use it to automatically sell advertising space on your blog. It works great for small sites and you keep ALL the money. (Link in sig)

The only drawback is you need traffic to see your advertising space offer, but from your post you won't have that problem.

Thanks you guys for your suggestions and help.

I have heard of oiopublisher before, but haven't known anyone how actually is using it. Is it a one time payment plugin or is it a monthly subscription type of deal?...

I actually signed up with buysellads a long time ago, but never really got around using it. How much do they take out out of your earnings?...

Either way I'll take a look at both and see if they are a good fit what I am trying to accomplish. Thank you all.

I just checked buysellads and yeah they took about 25% out of each ad sales. I dont think that will work for me at all. Thats way to high. I mean my top 125x125 slots go for $150 each and that would mean they $50 out of $300 (for two spots).
Yeah, I think they would work much better for bigger sites with higher ad prices.

Thank you for that. How has been your experience? Is it really automated and is it reliable? And do they also have the feature where advertiser can get on the waiting list?...

      Thank you.

Definitely echo the recommendations of OIO Publisher. It's a one time fee of $47 which is great so you don't have to worry about networks taking commissions and making less money.

You can basically set it up to complete automate your advertising spots. It handles payment via credit card, paypal, and basically anything else you can think of. It's pretty much the ultimate solution for the problem your experiencing.

          Thnaks for the recommendation Rob.

Yeah, after playing around with a bit more with buysellads and finding out about their fees, I think I will give OIO a try. Hopefully it will be worth it. I mean, I look at it this way, even if it works for 1 month for me, it has paid off for itself by saving me all that time. Thanks again everyone.
