Well I have tried a lot of things but the absolute first was from a PPC site which has now gone out of business. It was all upwards for a while from there as I earned a few grands doing video editing and uploading on youtube. Then I moved on to article writing. When all of those freelancing became boring I even gave a try to IM with amazon affiliate, but it did not work then. Recently, after more than 6 months I am back again to IM, hopefully this time would earn a few bucks through it.

    Great Question!

I made my first $10 promoting an affiliate product - after someone opted in to my list, they were taken to a Thank You page where this offer was available.

I was super excited and yelled to my family, "it worked!"......"somebody wanted my stuff~!"........and was dancing through the house.

Now, earning thousands per month, it still works!

I thoroughly enjoy sharing things that I believe have value with my readers.......trying my best to treat them as I want to be treated.

My first $10 came from Pay-Per-Click parked domains. Of course I spent WAY more than that to purchase the domains in the first place, and only a small percentage of them even got any clicks.

If I could spend my noob IM money all over again, I would research and buy already established, proven, income producing, ready-made sites. Preferably in .COM No question.

Finding such sites for sale is the hard part. But if you find them, they should pay for themselves back in a year or so, and if it's a good long term niche it's steady monthly gravy after that.

I've been selling my services online as a freelance ghostwriter and transcriptionist since 2007. I'm not sure if that counts. Well, the very first $10 I've ever gotten from selling a product was from my article sales at Constant Content.

My first 10$ was from taking paid surveys. And I am very exciting then. Now I do affiliate marketing in clickband.

My first 10.00 sale was with a subliminal message mp3 product. It was something about their advertising that made me want to promote their product.

Adsense came along a little later for me. My first online money came from taking surveys. As far as actual IM, it was either a Gambling or Porn affiliate. Vice marketing is always good when you are young and single. I go a much more conventional/conservative route these days!

My first $10 bucks from Adsense. It fact I still can remember how it feels to earn the first natural click, even when it was like 10cents? LOL. Adsense is still part of my portfolio, good and stable stream of income.

I talked to an old friend who had a real estate business.

He had previously been ranked high on google but his rankings were slipping (this was many years ago when google was refining its algorithm and the term "black hat" hadn't been coined yet).

I told him I could probably get him a number one ranking by writing a few online press releases for him.

I also told him I should have something interesting to write about so I suggested a report on something like "7 Secrets To Getting The Best Price When You Sell Your Home In xxxx".

He could use the report online as a download and his agents could give it to prospects and clients.

I wrote a few online press releases that went straight to the top 4 or 5 rankings on google including number one.

The report they found was quite effective at getting people to list their homes with them and helping to sell homes too (I asked the staff what the biggest problems they had with sellers preparing their homes for sale and what they should do so the report was hugely valuable to both the agents and the people wanting to sell their homes).

I think I charged $1,500 for the service.

You could still do something similar today although you might use a different SEO technique, you might include QR codes and mobile marketing or whatever you're skilled at.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh

After I researched about how to build traffic to my website, looked up some basic SEO tips that I hadn't known, and learned how to promote a bit better onsite and off, I sold my first instrumental on my website for $17, which I wouldn't have done if I didn't learn about SEO, about building some traffic, and so on.

  • I started making streaming sites [blogger] about 2 months ago. I have ca 6 bucks with [I know, it sucks and the ad's are way too intrusive.. hence only on my less decent sites] and I have a 12 dollar saldo on my infinityads, which will be on my paypall the 15th.

Basically the whole mindset (I'm still a noob though) is this:
    1. create websites; 2. backlinks; 3. ???; 4. profit!!1.

Still thinking about how to invest the money I earned into something worthwile [domains for the sites or captchacredit come to mind].

But here is a follow-up question for those interested:
What have you done with the money you earned?
Have you invested it in your IM biz or have you spend it on weed, hookers and parties?

Promoted a website that I was a member of through a quick blurb on a small marketing website that had a serious problem with spammers. One single person paid, I got 20 smackers, but they didn't stay.

But still, a short paragraph on a relatively unknown, albeit somewhat active, forum. It was a start.

I made my first $10 with article marketing and Clickbank. That was back in the day where every article I wrote made at least one sale per month. So the first $10 was quickly followed by more and my fingers didnt stop moving on the keyboard for about 12 months!

I bought a car from article marketing. Not sure it would happen like that now.....hmmm....I feel a case study coming on to see if it's still possible!
