Store/Auction Software? What's the best option.

INTERNET MARKETING

We have a customer that wants to have a website that will allow users to post items they have for sale - similar to Craig's list - but with the ability to pay for the item via the site and a buyer rating system - similar to Ebay.

We have no idea where to send them. Would the best option be auction software - or is there a different shopping cart solution we should suggest?

Any suggestions as to specific products are appreciated.

Auction Script Software by PHP Pro Bid

It's well maintained and their support is great.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, you have to register to get a custom quote, and the registration system seems to be broken. Do you have any other suggestions? Do you agree with us that auction software is the best option? They don't want it to be an auction at all; everything would be a fixed price, but we thought that auction software would provide a good framework on which to build.

  I have used these guys before (though not for auction software). Their customer service is good and I like their other products.

If they don't want to run an auction site, how about a Fiverr clone where the sellers can set their own price (not just $5). I know there are several out there.

It has the onsite paying system and seller ratings.
