How to make videos on YouTube that convert to affiliate sales?

I understand how to rank videos, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make a video that converts into a sale. Basically what do put as the content of the video is confusing me.

I was thinking of create some videos of myself recommending some affiliate products where I do a screencast and talk about how the product has helped me. I was also thinking of creating some videos where I provide some valuable information on "how to lose weight fast" for example, AND then mention at the end to visit my site (and on the site I will have the affiliate product).

How should I make these videos so that it's not a direct sale and can provide value to the viewer?

    Pick keyword phrase.
Make video about that phrase, providing valuable information. Mention more info at your site.
    Rinse and repeat.
(provide link to site in description)

It's hard to get a YouTube video to lead directly to a sale. The best strategy IMHO is to use YouTube as a way of getting traffic to the sales page, and let the sales page do the selling. Your video should give some good info, but should also arouse the visitors' curiosity so that they visit the website or blog for more info (via your affiliate link, of course).

    Hello,

It's hard to convert traffic from Youtube into buyers. A few years ago I had some success with animoto.

Mbullard has some good points on ranking. Also the idea of attracting people to your sales page or newsletter optin might be a better rout rather than just trying to hard sell them in the video. I'm sure you have heard it before, and you will hear it more and more throughout this forum... the money is in the list. Create value in your free newsletter and sell the benefits of the newsletter in the video. If you have a PLR ebook that you can give away as an incentive then that might be another way to gather their contact info. Then once you have your list, you can drip market your valuable content as well as "recommended products" aka your affiliate links. hope this helps

I learn this from some videos out there in Youtube.

Let say you website teaches how to speak in Japan language in 30 days
(it is supposed to be in video format - video training).

So, you are recommended to give away some of your videos, publish on Youtube
and put your site link in the video and in the description.

When people love the video, they love to know more and learn more.

    It amazingly presells me. Haha

OK...first off don't expect to slap up one video with a hyper link to some funky click bank page with the bald headed chicken plucker with the accent who discovered the secret disk.

      2. Pick niche. Built your own videos and title them around keywords people would search for. This premise is the same one you'd use for article writing and the rest of the stuff I aint got time to screw with.

      3. Establish yourself as an authority on your subject.. One video aint a gonna do it.

      4. If it's a get rich scheme...be careful...Google is banning these videos left and right

      5. Contrary to some....I start every description with my url. Make sure you start it with http://www. whatever.com and then it's live.

      6. Back to key word research....remember that Google owns You Tube and You Tube is the second highest rated search engine out there so title and tag accordingly....so your viewers can find you.

      7. Never send them to a direct sales page.....send them to a squeeze. Please. Why waste the traffic and leads...and Google wont bust your balls.

      8. Build traffic. Get 10 videos up...original content.....ghetto style like mine is just fine....and then find a related video in your niche and post a video response.

If it comes back....approval required just find another high traffic video to hijack traffic from until one instantly approves it. I find older videos seem easier.

You Tube is an SEO GOD......if you do it right.....you can end up on the first page rather easily depending on your title.

Use search terms like "how to...X " "Get rid of X" etc.

Good luck...shout if u need any help...but personally I'd create my own product...based on my own passion. There are people on You Tube who are into everything from rat traps to carp fishing to girls who smoke lol.

I've generated over 205,000 views in around 7 months....earn good adsense money and have built a giant list......because my niche is tight..but passion based. The broader your niche the tougher it is....remember that much.
