Hey Guys,

This one goes out to the WP nerds in the house...

Is it possible to create a static home page for a single category.

So when you click through to that category page, you see a "sticky" post, or post that always appears as the first of the posts in that category.

Must be a plugin for it right?

Any help much appreciated.

    You were close when you said "sticky".

    The WP Sticky plugin can do this. Just select the category you want.

  • WP 2.7 has a sticky function when you create a post, under Visibility.

  • Google "query post" on the WordPress codex and you can change the category template by naming your custom category to "category-ID.php", just replace the "ID" with the category ID.

    Of course, you will need to put the "query post" code into the category-ID.php to have it displays only one post...

    Anyway, this is kinda technical... but if you read the codex you or your tech guy can easily figure it out .
