    Perhaps you could use a hashtag of the trend and get people to retweet that out to the many. But you would need something highly relevant or witty for it to catch on.

    The only way I know of is by building up a network to then retweet your fellow peers tweets and give 'follow fridays' - that way they are likely to return the flavour, each time you adopt their followers and build a good base for twitter marketing.
