Honest opinions?

So i am trying to bring attention to some fake news stories that i want to use to drive traffic to sites as a general marketing strategy. My goal is to write funny stories that are then submitted to ireport on CNN and newser to get lots of exposure and hopefully picked up by other readers. The idea is to drive traffic from these sites to another website that indirectly talks about my core website. See the link below for an article i just submitted to CNN and let me know what you think of the idea... Thanks

    Not a bad article. Satire is funny if done well. You should use more paragraphs, I think it'd be easier to read.

    Look Ok ....I read the Onion a lot so it's in their style. I guess the issue would be getting from the article to the sales pitch and converting. Is the end product (what you're trying to sell) somehow relevant to your article? If not, it may lead to traffic but too few conversions....

      Thanks for the feedback, the article Isnt relevant at all to what my site is about but im hoping that if it goes viral that it will lead to lots of traffic. My site doesn't appeal to only one niche and has a very broad appeal over all social groups, ages, sex's and so on so im not worried about targeted traffic... just traffic lol

    It's a good idea, but you need to think about it and plan it thoroughly or as Rooze says, you could get traffic but no conversions.

    I liked it. Though you may want to fix those spelling mistakes before the hardcore climate change enthusiasts show up. People love to target and mock spelling and grammar mistakes in articles that they disagree with or find offensive.

    I know you're just trying to get clicks to your site but it's still good to keep this in mind.

    I don't the stories are relevant to your fan page so your conversions would be poor. This is like a "bait and switch." The stories, when done on your fan page are funny - like the Kim Jong II one so are ok there, but I think they will fail as a TARGETED traffic source.

    I get the concept but where's the link out? Did I miss it somehow? One other thing. The article is amusing but you really need to break it into short paragraphs. Many people already hate to read and they hate to read large blocks of text even more. Good luck.

      Ill have to go back into it and cut it up a bit, the link was basically the first article from the home page.
