So how much do you actually make?

Greetings all,

I'm new to the Warrior Forum and IM, but have found some great bits of wisdom on the site.

I'm interested in writing infoproduct and then selling it.

As someone who's done some professional copywriting and academic training as well I'm pretty sceptical of some of the claims people are making... making $1,000 000 in a month and claims less over the top.

What do you actually make - I realise there will be huge variation I'd be interested in ball park figures? Please be candid - weekly, monthly and yearly figures would be great.

I've found a niche that interests me and plan to spend about a year on the campaign.

There are plenty of people who make 7 figures a month. Bear in mind, these guys would have established businesses, staff and a ton of experience - so this is far from the norm.

I don't like talking about exact earnings, but I'm in the 6 figure yearly range. There are plenty of people who make that much on here, but also just as many who say they do but don't

If you follow people's posts for a while, you can usually get a pretty good idea if they know what they are talking about (or not!)

This year (the first year I actually made anything) I stayed in the 4 figure range. I got out what I put in. Next year will be better lol.

    $500+ per day

try selling another product in the same niche as you're going to enter before you spend a year on creating something unless you have a plan to entice quality affiliates

I can not say if the people claiming to make $1,000,000 in one month are telling the truth. However, there are plenty of people who are pulling in that kind of money. Is there anyone on this forum who makes that much? I don't know of any but it is possible. Maybe Frank Kern and other top dogs pop in here unannounced every once in a while.

The amount of money you can make online depends greatly on the platform you have built for yourself.

Man, I am excited to see what everyone online makes... maybe they will all drop in here and candidly post it for the world to see... maybe someone will even give their address too so that they can get robbed - like the guy on the tv show storage wars did. He showed in an episode all of the treasures he kept hidden in his house worth hundreds of thousands of dollars... Then burglars broke in the place and stole it all.

Caution is no doubt a virtue Kevin but that sounds a bit intense - it would seem unlikely that the big players would keep millions at home and not have pretty sound security. The last thing I would want is to put anyone's well being or wealth in jeopardy.

Maybe this is more a concern in America as violent crime is relatively limited in Australia.

I'm just curious as to what sort of money people make as there seems to be a lot of boasts here that make me suspicious.

More your normal IM person that's been in the game for a year or two and not the really well known established players.

      Thanks to those that answered.

It is very difficult to write a how-to on making lots of money with internet marketing without ever doing it yourself.

Don't put the cart-before the horse... the people who sell tons of WSOs and affiliate products (with continued success each time they put something out) have established themselves in the IM "community" and people know they are legit and have used the methods they teach to actually make real money.

I'd take the advice from above and spend some time learning by being an affiliate, building a list, learning the lingo, etc.

We haven't had a "What do you earn?" thread for a while, I think.

As a skepchick observer of human behavior, the comments in these threads always interest me.

Some people seem to find them quite inspiring and valuable, especially when people describe how they're making the money they're making (I used to be in that group).

Some others, who aren't interested in discussing it, instead of keeping out of the thread, often post in it just to express the fact that they don't even think anyone should be asking. Even though this part of the forum is subtitled "Where we talk about making money". To me, that comes across as "I don't want to talk about it and I don't even want you to talk about it"! I always "wonder" about that.

I stopped trying to give accurate figures once I was making a really good living, but I've now built my business up to the level at which I'm very steadily earning a bit more than either my doctor or my lawyer. And I've done that with 3 years' hard work - especially the first year, when I worked at it for something like 30 hours per week, every week.

    It depends.

On days I release a product, depending upon the affiliate commission (75% or 100% commission), I make between $500 to $1,000. That's not solely from the product sales, of course - I always ensure my ebooks deliver profit to me after the sale as well (wrote a WSO about that too).

On days I do not, I make between $50 to $200 from affiliate sales.

Keep in mind this new methodology I'm using....I've only really embraced for the past 2 months or so, so I envision it will only scale up.

That's the thing I really hate about bunches of folks trying to make money online....we've all heard that "faking it 'til you ams making it" is a way to go!

However, I've now been doing this for almost 15 years... and I've been dealing for years with folks who have bought into the dream and seen only empty bank accounts to show for it.

Lying just perpetuates an evil in this market. I've proven with my own releases that it *is* possible to make money ethically and morally within the MMO niche...one never has to fall prey to the Scam The Masses! idea.

So while it sure might be momentarily tempting to claim, yes I'm banking big bucks! ... it's far more satisfying in my case to be honest.

I've worked damned hard for my success....I'm proud of it. There's no need to embellish it.

It's relative, you don't really know if people are talking about total income or actual profit when running a business online. I'm pretty sure though that when people make claims, they mostly talk about total income just to make themselves look better, when in fact their profits are way lower than that. Just my 2 cents.

As for me, I'm somewhere in the early stages of 5-figures a year, in profits of course. But to me, it's more about the freedom that it gives me, not about the numbers.

    Hi,

It certainly varies daily. Certainly helps to have multiple streams (adsense, CPA, CB, etc).

It is difficult to ascertain whether the amounts claimed are accurate reflections!

    Please ask again in 2012!

    cheers, Patrick

I just took my 3.92 from Fiverr to PayPal an hour ago. That's where I got my first money and another gig site. So far earned about $20 from those sites and now experimenting with CPA, once that picks up pace with a positive cash flow, affiliate marketing, then buying websites and investing in offline stuff.

I'm not even sure why I came in this thread. I usually just laugh at the amount of people who will lie in them.

I always wonder what drives the people to lie about their income? Who is it going to impress?

I am in with internet marketing just for fun and for the lifestyle it gives. I like saying "I am a marketer" when asked by gals in the pub, instead of saying "I do not work." Of course every penny earned DIGITALLY counts, but thanks to my Grandpa (currently in heaven) I do not need the money right now. My g*ts say I'll have a wonderful time with all you guys and gals here.
