EzineArticle's Response To My Complaint Of Plagiarism

I recently found one of my articles copied without my permission. We all know how common this is, but what was different about this particular article is that it was published on EzineArticles.com...the same place I had originally published it.

The "author" even went so far as to use the exact same words I had used in my title. After reading the entire article I noticed a button to the right of the article on EzineArticles.com labeled "Report Article". I clicked on the button and filled out the simple form and included a link pointing back to my original article. Took me all of 3 minutes.

I sent the message and left for lunch. When I returned a few hours later there was an email from EzineArticles informing me that the article in question had been removed! I took a quick look and sure enough it was gone.

It's amazing how fast they took care of it. I had no idea they would respond that quickly.

All The Best,

Tony

I wish I could report the same experience.
I have a woman that rewrites my articles and submits them to EZA. I complained but they claim theye are not exactly the same.
But everytime I post an article on a certain topic a few days thater this smae woman posts a rewritten version.

I had a similar experience I posted about not too long ago. The article in question was not 100% identical but it was pretty darn close. The way I found out about the article is that it was ranking in the search engines for the term I was trying to rank for.

After I reported it, the article was taken down immediately and not long after my article was on page one of Google for the keyword phrase.

Sounds like it might be time to use a different pen name. I'm not sure what else you could do about this person.

It doesn't take much longer to do a little research and write an original article but these scum bags are out there ripping people off everyday. It's disgusting.

Weird, I had the same issue and after I reported it they deleted the account/articles and banned their IP address.

What I did was e-mail the support team with a list of articles and their similarities, also pointing out the dates and resources boxes (they just copied mine and popped in their links).

Plagiarism is something that is absolutely, 100% NOT tolerated by any article publishing website. It is taken VERY seriously. I'm not surprised that the quick actions described above were taken.

If only our articles could be reviewed that fast. LOL

Every day I check the obituaries. If I don't see my name there, then I know it's going to be a good day!

I think adamv's response is something good for you to try: "Sounds like it might be time to use a different pen name. I'm not sure what else you could do about this person."

I've seen this as well. I always thought the point was to get ideas from other content not steal it.

The speed with which things were resolved was impressive. I'm very happy this is taken seriously and I'm glad to see that people take the time to do something about it.
