It's probably not kosher according to the Can Spam act to contact strangers on some list about business, I suppose a small trickle would keep you under the radar.

The complete legit way may be to have a list owner do a solo mailing for you. Or start with a list owner found in the databases on lists.nextMark.com

If you're just wanting to send out an invitation then you could use your own hosted software like phpList or Interspire Email Marketer.

thanks, that might be what I need to do. I only want to send an invitation, so they have the choice to opt in or not. If they don't opt in, then I won't contact them again

Just wanted to share this awesome bulk email program that was recommended to me by the WSO seller that I purchased the leads from.

This is really great, you can upload any lists into it without restrictions, and it is a one off cost only. I am going to upload all my aweber contacts into this one and cancel my aweber account, and stop paying expensive monthly fees.

I think to tackle this problem you can try signing up with another autoresponder, you can try cheap and reliable one like norabots.com, that allows you to import any leads without questions...

In my opinion the best idea would be to upload them into a mass emailer software. Then send them to a capture page where you can warm them up/ email them promotions whenever you want...

Much better idea in the long run and gets rid of the chance of spam (atleast after the initial mailing)
