Hi people, how much open rate for your regular FU message?
And for the specific campaign?

I just want to get some ideas about it..

  • When I send FU messages I normally get high open rates and extremely high unsubscribe rates.

    • Dare I ask what if an "FU" message is what I think it is?

  • what??? extremely high unsubscribe rates??? does it mean because you only send affiliate offer to them with no value? if yes, then it makes sense...

    • Sorry... Just joking... Can't resist... Holidays...

Honestly it's not a very good question unless you have a defined goal.

Depends if you're trying to sell hard out of the gate.

Depends if you're trying to build trust and a relationship first.

Depends if you're trying to market to everyone or if you're trying to filter out the majority and only keep the subscribers around who "dig" what you're doing.

There is no average... It all matters how you do it.

  • Zero. No one cares about a regular follow up message. You gotta give your sign-ups something really good, every time for free. Then at some point down the road drop the bomb.

People open email with eye candy in them. For example when was selling themes I'd announce a new theme was about to be release. Open rate was 80-100%. The when I sent the blurb about the theme release providing a link to the new theme, the open rate was 100+, sometimes to 160%.

When I sent a text message for a tutorial or something, I'd get 20-40%. When I added some type of eye candy to the text message or a promise to deliver eye candy the open rate went up to the 80+ percent.

Give them your best stuff often, then upsell with a trophy (The thing you're selling) and it's gotta be good every time.

If you're just trying to sell right off the bat with out earning trust first, your rate will always be low, unless you've got something spectacular to offer.
