The simplest way is to go to bitly.com and get a totally unrelated link. It's free. Enter your affiliate id and bitly.com will give you a bitly url which masks your original id.

I use a free plugin called "Pretty links lite", the URL just looks like another page on your site - works great for me

pretty link lite is very good for this

it also gives you basic stats to see how many times your link has been clicked

I've found the opposite, myself: that people are actually more likely to click because they know I'm an affiliate. It all depends how you go about telling them.

For legal and regulatory reasons, you do have to disclose that you're an affiliate, anyway - it's not something you can conceal, so it's best to try to turn it to your advantage.

It's still very worthwhile masking your affiliate links, though - for several other reasons: just not for that reason!

    "Prettylink" is good.

Using a $1 ".info" domain-name as a redirection is good (I usually do that).

The really important thing is to stay away from "url-shortener" services like tinyurl and bit.ly. ("Bit.ly" is probably the very least advisable one to use, for many, many reasons, discussed here and in 100 other threads. ) Even fewer people are probably willing to click on a concealed "bit.ly" link than will click on something like an "open hoplink". (And who can blame them?!).

I use Pretty Links Lite. Great plugin and Lite version is free. I don't use url shorteners any longer. It seems that they are becoming an untrusted link.
