Please help name my product

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays.

I have acquired the exclusive rights to a physical product I am very passionate about.

It's a disk that protects your Mobile Phone (iPad, iPod, Computer) from radiation it emits.

I will be needing all kinds of website, marketing, sales, affiliate, design etc., advice, but
right now, I am asking for help in naming the product and the website url.

There are so many great minds on this forum and I would really appreciate some input
and direction to try and find something brandable and memorable.

Hey Angela, while I'm thinking on names, I wanted to make sure you know about Domain Search for finding brandable domain names. I use it all the time. You just give it a list of words, then it will spit out all the combinations that are still available. Very cool.

Clarifying question on your product...
Does it protect the device from radiation, or the user?
Your description sounds like it protects the device.

Thanks DimeSaleDotNet, to answer your question, it protects the
user by neutalising the radiation by 99.95% and heat by 80%.

I've thought of a few names such as BeMobiSafe, MobiProtector,
MobiDefence... but not sure...

  I suppose the product already has a name from the manufacturer. If the product name itself has already been taken, why not place the product name in the begining of the domain name with another keyword after it?
  
  People who usually search for product names already know what they are looking for and are probably ready to buy after a bit more research on your website.

Thank you Shane, I have been offered their manufacturing name,
but am debating the best way to go with this.

The pro side is that the test results are already in that name so
I would not have to re-do them. But it crossed my mind that
something unique to me would be great...

Swings and roundabouts I guess :-)

  How about "Mobile NORAD", or something similar but shorter?
  
  NORAD is the North American Aerospace Defense Command. The general impression one gets (thanks to the movies) from hearing "NORAD" is that of something related to "defense". The marketing idea would be to associate the name to the defense of the mobile user from a mobile device radiation threat.
  
  By the way, the "mobilenorad.com" domain name is currently available.

I see your point about my suggestion not sending out the best signal. Emotional impact was what I was going for, since it's been said that people buy with their emotions and then try to use logic to rationalize their decisions.

It sounds like I could learn a thing or two from your copywriting skills.

It's too bad "ray bans" is taken :-) I suppose you'll have to avoid names that sound like sunglasses too. Something like "cell safe" gets the idea across, but I'm not sure I like that suggestion myself. "cell swell" is too... cutesy? The foil foiler is too... out there. (implying no need to wear an aluminum foil helmet for protection) But it's fun. LOL

I have a domain name already, which is a bit off the wall,
but quite brandable I think... not sure if it's right though,
would love your feedback...

I haven't decided yet and you make a very interesting point
which I will definitely consider.

There are certainly many examples of non-words that are
so well-known they are everyday words now, but I certainly
don't put myself in that category and I do actually prefer to
keep things simple and not have to spell the word once it is
said.

I was just leaning towards something funky and brandable.

Would you consider the word "mobi" a fake word, or would you
say it is pretty universally accepted now?

  Well, the word MOBI is an abbreviation. Yes, I would consider it a universally accepted term.
  
  The name, Mobile Munky is good. It can actually work well in your favor. Although the term Munky is not universally accepted, people that come across the name will be able to understand that Mobile Munky is a spin off of Mobile Monkey. And because people will need to use their brains to process this information, it might actual stick. That as far as I know is good for branding. However, I can not see much more done in terms of branding with a name like that. It would be better if you can come up with something just as funky with more meaning relative to the product you are going to be presenting under the brand name. Of course, finding a name like this is 10x harder and the brand name is not everything. If you product is good, with a memorable name, it will sell regardless.
