I've been researching good places to sell a couple of my websites,
thought this list could help others.

Feel free to add any other goodmarketplaces...

Targetted

SitePoint.com Marketplace
roughly $20

DigitalPoint.com's Buy/Sell/Trade
Free (but must have 25 posts minimum)

DNForum.com
Most of the forum is paid membership only...

Warrior Forum Classifieds
$20

WebsiteBroker.com
$10-$30

SearchEngineForums.com
Free

V7N
Free

GeekVillage.com
Free, to an extent..

WebMaster-Talk.com
Free

DomainState.com
Free

Not so targetted...

eBay.com
Lotta junk on there, not really a targetted audience either.

BusinessesForSale.com
For bigger sites only.

BizBuySell.com
Similar to above.

WebHostingTalk.com
Worth a shot if it's tech-related.
#i'd rather be surfing

Does anyone have experience selling on the
    above sites?

It's looking like SitePoint and DigitalPoint are
#1 and #2 at the moment...

i was asking about this the last couple of days, i am trying to sell a few sites, but what i see i dont like:

I dont think that avg. buyouts/bids for for typical NON PREMIUM NON PR7 etc. sites is great at all!

I see complete sites on sitepoint and most of them sell for about $100...which IMHO is very low and does not make this interesting at all.

DP is overall a horrible place to sell, scammers and fraud everywhere. Sorry, its a hideout for poor people and there is a HIGH chance to get scammed with whatever you sell over there, people using fake/stolen paypal accounts and whatnot.

I have no idea where to best sell a "solid" site, i am not talking about making a fortune...but also NOT giving sites away for $100 or things like that.

Do you know this for sure? Put in your listing that you won't do business with someone with less than 10 positive iTrader points to give you at least some protection. Also, I was thinking about DP because (my apologies in advance) it seems like a lot of gullible people hang out there and buy sites for $60 to $100 that I can put up in around 10 minutes. I was thinking of putting up a bunch and going haywire over there. Anyway, just my $0.01.

DP is excellent to sell off sites just like you described. The majority of buyers are wanting the lower priced sites, but there are many decent people there, mixed in with the rif-raf of course.

My general rule is under $100 it goes to DP... Over $100, it goes to Sitepoint and I post an "listed notice" on DP directing traffic to the Sitepoint listing.

I know what you mean George, I had to get 25 posts before I could
put an ad on DP, it was a painful exercise...

I've now posted mine (see sig) on Warrior Forum, DigitalPoint and SitePoint.
If I don't get takers in a couple of days I'll put it up on the rest of the
    above list.

Let you know how I go.

DP is the place to go if you want to flip turnkey websites and other stuff that does not belong to the "high tier" of websites, i.e. proxies, imagehosts and various script websites.

      sitepoint for the rest.

btw the best place to sell your sites is your email list of people who already bought from you... and if you want to brand yourself as a flipper, you may want to create a squeeze page where people can sign up if they want to receive notifications if you have websites to sell.

This is the far better solution according to me. Btw I've a negative experience with DP. But this may have been accidental, I didn't meet the suitable man.

I would list on sitepoint 1st then list the details of the auction pointing back to the sitepoint auction from

    webhostingtalk.com
    digitalpoint.com

Also your title is important I see 100 sites for sale in my RSS reader and I don't have time to read them all.

So titles with traffic and revenue figures get clicked on first.

Thanks for the all the suggestions.

I've currently got my sites on SitePoint (as well as DP
and WF), received 5 bids, up to 65% of the reserve,
within the first day, plus a bunch of BIN requests, so
I'm still hopeful they'll get what I'm asking.

I'll post on those recommended forums and point it
    to the SP listing.

As for emailing the buyers, great point Allegro.
Definitely hadn't thought of doing that.

    - Anyone know the 'rules' on emailing those affiliate
customers? CB must give you their contact details
    for a reason ;-)

You can also sell your sites on our forum
    forum.vbulletinsetup.com/f51/
I don't even think we have a min post count setup for that forum

It would be good if you are selling a forum, the site itself is a help site for forum software (vbulletin)

    regards
