What makes a good mentor for a newbie?

Is the one who tells you to do this, do that but is no interested to brainstorm or discuss with the team of newbies a good mentor?

Is talking about new discoveries unnecessary, stupid and childish (mentor thinks it's like asking for attention).

A mentor should be a person you ask something when you don't know not someone who takes you by the hand and teaches you everything from scratch.
Sure he can point you to some useful resources but it's up to you to read and learn.

I disagree. What you are talking about is a coach. A mentor's job is to hold your hand and take you all the way. Being a coach is more difficult 'cos you deal with someone who has problems that might be unknown to you. As a mentor, you work with a clean slate, and a mentor will teach you something which he knows - not something which you want to learn.

You can't tell. There are some "mentors" out there who will never show you what they do exactly and some will.

Take for example those clickbank products that the owner talks about how he made 6 figures last year and can show you how. The sad part is that a lot of them don't. They tell you to promote their product and that is how they are able to generate MILLIONS online each year.

I would suggest that you get into MLM online because you will have the same chance like they have when it comes to DUPLICATION.

I am not going to refer to a specific names here, but a good mentor is the person who's ALREADY 5-10 years ahead of what you are trying to accomplish.

Know what you want to achieve and look for people who've already done it.

Here's the truth about online marketing mentors:

Someone is only capable of showing you how to earn as much as they themselves are earning. So if someone who is only earning $500 a month online is saying they are going to teach you how to earn over $10K a month... THEY ARE LYING LIKE A RUG.

Don't take advise from those who are not actively practicing what they preach...

Anyone who is TRULY successful (earning at least $10K per month or more) is not going to have the time to take each and every person and give them live and personal 1 on 1 "hand holding". Saying that they will is generally just another marketing ploy. If you are lucky, they will host weekly training calls, webinars, or some other form of training allowing the entire team to attend.

A good mentor for a newbie is the one who will tell that newbie how to think for himself, and teach the newbie to be self-efficient. There are no secrets. You are on your own, so you must develop your skills, not seek secrets or tricks. A mentor should focus on helping you with teaching you how you can help yourself. It's all about you. When you grow, your business grows.

Rather than turning you into a clone of themselves, a good mentor helps you discover your own unique path online while using their experience to guide you past obstacles.

This should include brainstorming sessions - a good mentor will have students that do amazing things that are different because the students have different skills and passions.

My mentors show me how to do things, and also tell me what I need to purchase so I can be successful. When I have questions, they have the answers. If they did everything for me, I would never have learned how to do it for myself.

I was recently struggling with a product installation and they told me how to do it, faster and easier that I could have after struggling for days.

They are worth their fee 5 times over.

A good mentor is someone who is able to duplicate themselves in others.

To do that, they need to be able to give you as much info possible and be available for you questions.

To find a good mentor, you need to do this:

Don't buy anything yet because to discern what is the right mentor for you, you need to look at many WSOs on this forum and look at comments and critics from followers (WF users) of a specific program or WSO. If the critics are good than it could be the right program for you. Also, nothing stops you from looking at the Internet Marketer's WF profile too. Many times a reputable Marketer or mentor on WF have more than one WSO and you can look at all of them to make sure you are dealing with a serious and reputable Internet Marketer.

Some good coaching "one on one" program are very affordable like 37$ but don't go over a one payment of 497$ for a coaching program.

Don't forget to focus on one program so that you don't become overwhelmed by information overload.

    Regards

    David

A mentor for a newbie is someone that doesn't take one by the hand but someone that provides resources and words of wisdom to pick you up and help you keep going when you've hit a wall.

Finding the right mentor could significantly decrease your learning curve in the online world. Choose wisely
