Hostgator Phone Verification

So I recently purchased the HG Baby plan and my account worked for like 5 minutes. Then I get an e-mail from them saying that I need to call them or send them a photo ID, (which I do not have.)

Also, when I was signing up for the hosting, I input one of my parents names because I'm under 18. So if I call them, they're going to know for sure that I'm not who I say I am.

What should I do?

Also, are they the only hosting company that does phone verification? Cause I've been with a couple of others and this has never happened.

    Well, you need to contact them and get this straightened out. You are probably going to need to get the assistance from your parents and whoevers billing information you used.

      :rolleyes:. Same way the "Ethan Tremblay" head shot worked so well in Due Date.

      Follow David's advice. Have your parents call and verify that Hostgator has the right to bill them for the service.

    Well, it's obvious that HostGator thinks there is something rotten in Denmark. I've used them for a long time and never had that issue, so I echo the previous sentiments and encourage you to straighten it out. Probably the worst thing you could do at this point is do nothing.
