Hello Every one!

How Do I add Amazon affiliate link in my review website? Do I need to cloak the link before I add it. And what is the proper way to Do it. My website is a product review website and I will have several products(same category and similar) to review on that

I need to add these links using a click able link. Please help with your expert knowledge, I thank you sincerely. I.e "If you want buy it now Just click here"

Don't cloak the link, that is against Amazon's TOS.

All you do is create your Amazon Assoc. account and then you can get the link for the product you want. Find which words and phrases you want to make clickable throughout your articles and hyperlink your Amazon associate code into those words.

Sure, I did that and got an error, did not redirect to the Amazon product page. Are there any WP plug in that I can use.

I wouldn't cloak the link, one because it's against Amazons terms of service but also because everyone hates affiliate links when they think they're being tricked into doing it.

I would put your affiliate link stating what it is and asking them to click the link to help out the site 'So you can continue bringing them great reviews' or something.

Then give them another normal link under giving them an extra link in case they're miserable sods.

People will always click the affiliate link (well nearly everyone) and will make them respect the site, and could work in your favour

Thanks for the information for both of you made posts, I tried making the link in WP using the link function but I was giving an error message. Pls advice on this and how to fix it.

Is there any risk of getting the link hacked when you put the Amazon associate product link with a clck able link.

      thanks again,

You can make an image link or text link. Find your product on Amazon, go to text link, type whatever you want (buy now, click link etc...). profit

I agree, I wanted to know the right way to do this linking and what WP plug in can be used to make the linking process quick and firm.

BridgetSielicki or Renavon - could you (or anybody else) please provide a reference that says Amazon is against cloaked links? I've seen conflicting opinions on this but have never found anything in Amazon's documents that forbid it. Thanks!

        Peace

Since most folks probably will only see the thread title and not bother reading the full thread they will likely assume that Amazon terminates accounts because of cloaking. I wanted to point out that 44 posts into the thread Gaz Cooper quotes a response he received directly from Amazon which basically says they (Amazon) aren't against cloaking, per se.

So, from the horse's mouth, so to speak, cloaking is not against Amazon's TOS or Operating Agreement.

      Peace

You don't need any plugin to add a simple link into a WP post or Page.

All you need is a basic understanding of the link that Amazon gives you: e.g. a "text link" is a full HTML code and you do NOT use the "link" gizmo in the wp-admin text editing panel.
Also, you do NOT use the Visual editor ever, when you add code to your posts. Always use the html editor... and just copy/paste the HTML code from Amazon.

If you do it right, it should work!

Now, when we use HTML editor how can I create a click able link to the product.

      thanks.

Can you read? Did you read my post? If you've read it, did you try to apply it BEFORE you wrote back?

I don't mind helping fellow members but I hate when people start arguing instead of running and applying immediately what they were told. Tell me the results of your taking action instead of making up silly theoretical "what if..." questions.

        READ again my post above:
a "text link" is a full HTML code
meaning full html code for a clickable link. Amazon knows better how code-illiterate their affiliates are, so the affiliate just has to copy and paste. Everything is there to be a clickable link.

(Reply only if it doesn't work...)

From the Amazon site, when you click the Get Link > Text link

Highlight and copy the HTML below, then paste it into the code for your Web site.

...and below the text area a big button saying: HIGHLIGHT HTML
Note: Your Associates ID, xxyxyxyx-20, is already embedded in the code.

Right-click on the highlighted (blue) text area. Select COPY.
Go to your WP. Open the post/Page for editing: Switch to the HTML mode.
        Paste (Ctrl+V) the code

        Save/Update you post.

Reply only when you performed ALL the above actions.
