Facebook Timeline.... Good or Bad?

Hello mates,

As all are seeing their are continuous changes occurring in Facebook since last 6 months. Some people liked it and some don't.

As all we know lot of people are addict to Facebook and due to it whatever the changes occur they face some problems for some time but in some days become familiar with it. Some do in weekly basis they have to face some problems but some how they managed.

Actually i want to ask your point of view for this change and also want to ask that is Timeline feature affect our Pages or Apps on Facebook or only Profile Page affected by it?

Is this a good change for SMO purpose?

    personaly as a facebook user i hate it! but i think its the least of your worries if you use fb to market, as fb just agreed to make some serious changes to how they handle user data etc

    i read this last week somewhere and one the changes they must implement is how their advertising targeting works, we all know how precise the targeting can be on fb but that may be all about to change...

    I am also a facebook user and i love the changes done by facebook in recent 6 months. Now its more convenient and user friendly. I don't think there is any effect on pages...

    the new timeline feature has grown on me in the last few weeks since i've had it activated. i especially like the big cover photo at the top of the profile.

    i don't think they will do the same for Pages anytime soon...although they did make Groups look a lot more like Pages so who knows!

      Ive been using Facebook for more than 4 years now and amongst all the recent changes that it has made it to its layout, I think Timeline is the best of them all. Its attractive and unique in itself. Thumbs up MZ (y)

    I don't use Facebook to market, so I cannot legitimately comment on that.

    As a personal user, I actually kind of enjoy the Timeline. Sure, it will take a little getting used to; but it looks a lot cooler in my opinion.

    Personally I don't see anything bad in timeline... it's just different layout for profiles, with some additions... I don't think it will affect anything related to Facebook business, unless they use the same approach on pages... but I don't think that will come anytime soon... I hope they made all the changes they had on their minds for some time...

    Well i also use Facebook daily basis and even i also like this Timeline feature. Its more attractive and looks good. I don't think it will affect your pages or apps or anything else.

    All the changes done by Mark were good. Its always a good change done by him. Hope it will also make a good affect on all.

    I love Timeline. I use the main header as a billboard and the rest below as content like a regular site. I never sell on FB but redirect them to info pages on my site. I use photos wisely and also notes too. The tagging acts like a callback. I love it.

    I tend to resist change, the facebook timeline is no exception, except I dislike it more than usual ;-) I really do not find the layout intuitive - not a fan at all!

    As a user I really like timeline. I'm not going to go fanboi like some Mashable writers and say it's the biggest thing since sliced bread, but I like it.

    As for business, you might find this post at allfacebook helpful.

    I agree that the design is mostly not that great, having the sections parallel to each other makes it harder to read and navigate.

    I do love however, the large Cover design on the top, that makes it worthwhile.

    I am not sure cause I have not made the switch but it sure is scary. I mean seeing things from 5 years ago and being exposed to everyone lol. Kinda scary cause there really is no privacy.
