What is a good budget for Facebook ads?

I'm really new to the whole Facebook thing and apart from buying a WSO about them, all really want to know about them is:

- What is a fair amount to spend overall?
(I read on a blog that $50 a day, is a good daily budget to have.)

- Does that mean I would be spending $100 dollars every two days for clicks?

- What is a good daily budget to have?

    it depends on your target audience and whether you are doing pay-per-click or pay-per-impression....

    it also depends on what you are selling and how much it is (if you are selling anything at all or doing it for lead gen)..

    there is no simple answer unfortunately. $50 a day is great for one person but no where near enough for somebody else....

      Hi Mike,

      I would start with 50.00 day, and split test between two ads, so you tweak and make changes as needed, then once you find what works well and happy with your conversions, increase as you go, but do not make a big investment upfront, I have learned that facebook traffic can be picky, some offers work better than others, and much better if you create fan page and drive traffic from your fan page to your offer.

        This is another thing that I'm kinda confused on. Could I run two ads at the same time and have them share the 50.00 budget? Or does each campaign need its own exclusive budget?

          Yes.

          A campaign is a collection of ads you can create.

          A campaign can have 1 ad or 100 ads or x number of ads.

          So your campaign budget is split between the number of ads you have that belong in that campaign.

          So if you want to spend $50 on one ad - create one ad.
          If you want to split the $50 between 2 ads - create two ads under the same campaign with a $50 budget.. or create 2 campaigns each with a $25 budget

    Facebook Ads are a hard thing to justify compared to Google at this point so you should throttle your initial burn rate until you have long enough to check your ROI and make your scaling calculations. Once you have your small daily budget dialed in and are making money at the proper rate (after you have tested multiple ads etc), then let loose with the bigger budget amounts.

      I've been interested in this as well and for a while now. $50 a day seems fair, but if you want a small stream of hits, wouldn't a significantly lower amount per day suffice? Or is $50 typically the magic number?

    hello Kamikazee i think the best budget for any ppc compaign should be 500$-1000$ and for your daily budget try to start with 10$ and scale it up to 50$ a day

    I would try solo ads at the warrior forum or ezines a good way to advertise is at Reed Floren's Solo Ad Directory or use safe swaps it would cost you a lot less to advertise.

    First of all, it totally depends on the niche. If you are on the money making turf, dont bother yourself it FBads. It wont work! Most facebookers are not looking for ways to money. They are there to kill time


    Second, you have to start with the minimum budget. Start from $5 and upward to $50.

    Dont ever rely on those low daily budget plans as promoted by some WSOs. It will only make you spend more rather than save. I usually compare it to pasting a handbill on a wall in New York whereby big companies uses billboards to advertise. I have done it personally and I know what I am talking about.

    If your daily budget reach $50 and it is not converting as expected, then stop using FB ads for promoting your site/page/blog.

      Id say start with $20 as well and work your way from there. Facebook isn't that great though.. highly depends on what you are marketing to your audience. Make sure you know your audience.

        I'm not going to be using it to sell things directly. I'm thinking about using it as more of a lead capture / direct them to some sort of opt-in page. I don't really know yet.

          An optin page might work, but I also recommend that you go for optin app. By this, your fb visitors will simply allow you to get their details without actually giving their email willfully. I found out from experience that most facebooker hardly give out their real email address to grab offers

    it's more important to have targeted ads when dealing with facebook.

    get your listing down to under 5,000 people, $10 budget for each add you have running.

    If you do it right there should be around 30 different targeted ads for the same url.

    Honestly... a lot of people complain that the people on Facebook don't buy anything...

    This is not true... If you target extremely well - you will get decent sales... It does not matter what you are promoting

    Of course if you target the young generation (kids in school) and you try to sell them like a $100 product - you won't get much conversions...

    If you are selling something - target older people and target precise interests... do extensive market research. Facebook does work - it just requires a lot more work to get conversions...

    However I can see why its a little bit easier to promote CPA offers...

    This isn't just Facebook... It doesn't matter where people grab offers from...
    People tend to have a lot of email accounts.. I am sure most people with a high online presence will have more than 1 email account... Also if you are doing CPA offers... Why does it matter which email account they use to complete the offer....?

    I know because I have a few email accounts... one for more important stuff (i.e professional email account) and another account that is a bit spammy (used for sign ups). I use the latter for a lot of sign ups and opt ins and newsletters because I do not want the former "pro" email account to be flooded with "junk", so to speak....
