can someone explain a step by step sales funnel

Hello Warriors,

Okay, I need some help with creating a sales funnel. I think i understand what needs to be in the sales funnel, but i have no idea how the actual process works( when to capture emails, how to send them the download link after the purchase...ext).

As of right now i have a Sales page(which is my main product) and i also have a OTO page and a down sell page. Here is where im confused, I don't know which page i should be capturing emails on. How do i send them the download link, after they make the purchase? Does aweber know when they have made the purchase in order to send them the link? Do i capture emails just before they make a purchase so i can send them the download link?

Sales page--> OTO--> Down sale---> Capture email page(aweber)---> Purchase---> Now aweber sends them download link with thank you page

I think this is the right process, but please correct me if im wrong.

Thanks in advanced

There are a few WSO's explaining a few pretty good sales funnel processes. Take a look over there. : )

I cringe when I hear about sales funnels.... It's soooooooooooo last decade.

      In short......

S**t loads of money at the top.........

Not much at the bottom but for some reason 99% of people who want to make money online insist on drinking from the puddle rather than living next to the lake!!!!!

Fear not GW is donning his cape as we speak and is ready to show you the way.

So true here I would say 35% of time I see an upsell OTO I get it and appreciate the time saving value it ads often.
I think it still works fine

I honestly do not understand your post, unless you're confusing sales funnels with mlm (not the same thing). Sales funnels have been around for a long time, long before the Internet was ever here. The Internet has allowed marketers to refine the process of using sales funnels in a wide variety of ways.

Sales funnels are not only here to stay, they've also become a lot more intricate. Actually, with the proper structuring, you can make way more money on the back-end.

I cringe at inaccurate information, not sales funnels. They're making a lot of people a lot of money, even as I type this sentence.

@MacJ is spot on. For my $.02 it works like this in most of our collective context:

A person visits a website and sees an offer like "Get this great 5 part report on this great thing! Sign up here"

That visitor is now in a sales funnel. they will be sent messages until they either buy something or unsubscribe.

So over the course of the next 10 days, the visitor gets 5 emails, each with a great, valuable message.

Shortly thereafter (or perhaps one of the 5) the visitor gets a sales message: "hey, remember what we talked about yesterday...this product does a great job with that...."

The visitor clicks the recommended product link (aff link) and buys something.

Now that buyer is dropped into a new sales funnel, complete with a series of emails that are targeted specifically to a person who has been through the first, and bought.

Hope I didn't beat a dead horse... just wanted to lay out a really clear vision of what this is. Sometimes its hard to match reality with descriptions and such...

Hey, I noticed you have kids in the car, we can take the same meal we normally charge $3 for and add a $0.5 toy and a $0.20 box for a total of only $6

Sure glad an internet marketer came along and invented the upsale.

Offer a very inexpensive product. Say $4. Put that person on a buyers list, then send that list offers each day. When they buy a offer from your emails, move them to another list.

Each time you move the person from list to list, offer higher quality and higher price offers.

Tyler is right... about the lists.

Break it down into several steps.

You should ideally start with a squeeze page where you offer something of awesome value for free. Make sure it's something that you can give to them in a period of 6-10 days so they get used to seeing your e-mails. It will condition them to link you with high value.

high value = more trust = more sales

Mix up your e-mails with content, soft sells, and hard sells for a product of very small value ($5-20). Then if someone buys, you put them on the buy list... pretty much as Tyler said above. Once they buy your cheaper product, you can come back and sell them higher priced items. Then again, and again, and again. Don't ever let a customer just drop out of the sales funnel... keep selling more to them and give them more and more value. If you just sell them one thing and let them go, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

That will be the best way in my experience and research to get more sales and more repeat sales to give you more income over the long term.

    You might try reverse squeeze page> Sales page--> OTO--> Down sale---> (aweber)---> Purchase--->

But I like ... Reverse Squeeze ..> Sales Page ..> Purchase ..> Upsale OTO ..> No purchase Down Sale OTO..> Let AR distribute and funnel appropriately

I would say that there are no hard fast rules other than ensure you have your end state created first and then work backwards making every offer offer a less price (but still of value) you will eventually fet to your perceved initial offer on you optin page and this should ideally be a free product. Every stage should leto the next i.e be related. Hope this help. Good Luck.

The better sales funnel is ... capture the email with your free product... show them a related OTO that is also free... but needs delivered by post. Charge $1 for (s&h) You now have an email and postal address and telephone from someone with a credit card (invaluable)...

Rather than sell affiliate products immediately you first need a $27 month continuity program... get the recurring income first and only then... upsell to genuine qualified buyers.

    It really works... Better

I hate the idea of shipping & handling!

The whole purpose behind "online affliate marketing" is to avoid storing and shipping items.

But I like your sales process, and have seen it before.

If you have a product, I like >1> Squeeze page, which offers free video in exchange for email address >>> email drip of 3 to 4 emails, building a relationship between 3 to 5 days >>> Sales page with bomb conversion $30 >>> Upsell $97 >>> Upsell $147 + recurring $47 >>> Downsell $97 >>> Affiliate Offers

All this while segmenting your list. Always segment the market : )
