Why 2012 will be year of the artist-entrepreneur — Tech News and Analysis

This is some good news and long ago predicted by your's truly which is why I switched to the web way back in the 90s.

Right now demand is far more than I could provide and getting better.

    Well, except for the part where someone predicts this pretty much every year.

    Sooner or later they'll be right, and then all of them will go "I TOLD YOU SO" as if they haven't been wrong twenty years in a row.

      It's right for a lot of people. I know. My colleagues in comics and animation found lucrative business doing more work online. Adds greater independence to their lives. That's by doing rudimentary marketing and if they were to try more IM with their strategies they would devour all the good WSOs here but they're unaware of them.

      It's growing and for the better.

    At the risk of sounding incredibly morbid, there are others who have predicted that the world will end this year - it doesn't necessarily add any validity to either claim.

      Yeah but their predictions didn't come true.

      You should see the list of animators and comics pros who have expanded greatly just over the past couple of years alone and it's growing.

    With the growing popularity of the Amazon Kindle store, many are 'discovering'
    ebooks (and conveniently forgetting the fact that folks, including myself, were
    selling them online in 1996 - and earlier!)

    It's a welcome shift, for sure, and any creative/artistic person will rejoice in this
    revolution that's only gathering speed and taking off.

      You can say that again Dr. Mani. I've sent a ton of people to your website and they still can't believe what they see. It takes time to sink in regarding the potential. I for one would love to work with you and we talked a while back.

      Writing content is so enormous for me I've not had the chance to write but a few products of my own. I've been writing so much haven't had enough time to draw and I'm working on two big comic books right now. As kindle evolves with more color and graphics us comics guys are reaching big time. We can reach millions of people and cut the price of the ebooks down to 1970 prices. Get 100,000 buyers and you've got a good chunk of change, a great fan base, a great list to sell other products from. One of my pals owns the biggest comics ebook site. He makes idiotic amounts of money enough to do major movies and tv shows. He's been doing that for years now.

      So now that more and more people are taking part there's room for everybody.
