Need ideas to ID hot news topics to replicate heavy traffic from one post today
Ive taken some advice from ppl here implemented a blog page to my site utilize SEO I will assume effectively as I get about the same amount of traffic now from only blog posts versus massive volume of comment posting dropping a link back to my site.
I heard on a radio show that there are ways to track the hottest news stories. The host was commenting and said he can see in real time what the hottest news stories/ trends is. The show has a live cam and you could see his computer screen lit up, looked like a grid of some sort and one story posted on his site was just exploding. Anyone know what this tracking software is? Anyone know how to ID top news stories?
Reason I ask this is just one of my posts in the last 24hrs alone has generated a lot of traffic for me. Right now I feel that I am throwing spaghetti against the wall with my posts (mainly politically driven news stories and vids) hoping one will hit as this one did. I do about 6-10 posts a day and I can see (via stats reports) many times my posts are ranking well on Google searches.
If I can get this kind of traffic from one post as I did today that resulted in 1,432 Page Loads / 1,303 Unique Visits / 1,263 First Time Visits and replicate it with 6-10 posts a day I think things will only go up from there for me (including Adsense revenue) I know the tricks in SEO to get them to pop now I just have to ID the topics ppl are searches.
Is it something so simple as looking up for tops searches or something?
