Where can you cash U.S Cheques in Australia? My bank changes $20 per cheque and takes 60 days to clear! Most affiliates wont do Electronics transfer.

  • Ask for an overnight deposit. They will give you a form to sign where you agree to cover the amount in case the cheque doesn't clear.

I pay $20 at Westpac, but some banks are a bit cheaper.

  • I'm with St George Bank & they charge $10 to cash a US dollars cheque, but if you deposit more than 1 at a time, the fee gets cheaper (it's something like $16.50 for 2).

They have a 4 week clearance on overseas cheques.

  • Bank SA in SA though ...I only just noticed you're in SA too! It's only St George in the eastern states.

    • 4 week clearance is still a bit rough. I suppose when they're coming in regularly it doesn't make too much of a difference though.

    • I'm with St George Bank and they charge me $A10.80 per deposit (not per cheq).

It still takes 20 working days (4 weeks) to clear.

However, if you receive payments from Clickbank, after you receive 3 paper payments (checks/cheques) within 90 days you can simply change your payment details on your account and receive a direct deposit. It's free and paid direct into your account in Aust dollars.

Another alternative is to have the merchant deposit into your Paypal account. A transfer from there into your Aust bank a/c (in Aust dollars) only takes a few days.

    • bank sa, tell me its 10.00 first check then 5.00 every other check with that deposit.

Savings and loans are 10 per check.

ANZ will ring and confirm as there web site doesnt make any sense to me.
