Since we do seem to have a lot of new members, and since not
all of us have been on forums/discussion boards... and discussion
lists, since the beginning of time, I thought that it might be
insightful to share this link with you guys:

http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/

It catagories forum members by personality types, and I'm sure
that many of you have seen this before, but it provides food for
thought for those who haven't.

We all have "agendas" or "motives" when we post or interact
on forums. Some of us "think" that we are concealing those
agendas, but few things escape the watchful eyes of jedi
moderators

Which personality type are you?

Willie

I have been waiting to have a chance to say Hi to you Mr. Crawford.. By looking at your stats I can admire someone like that, takes dedication to make that many posts and help people. Great Job.
And yes I believe that the social internet scene is just like real life, you have all different personalities, some we like, some we hate and some we just want to see more of. One thing I have learned though, if you watch a person long enough online, there true personality shows just like in real life. That is why I commented on your post Numbers Mr. Crawford anyone with that many posts and Thank you's is someone you should follow.

This is an old one. I remember it from my school days.

I think internet has changed quite a lot.

Now you see trolls, griefers, white knights and other freaks.

      Yes, it's well-put-together.

I do find myself identifying with 1 or 2 of the personalities.

It also showed me how at times, if you allow them to, certain
people can really waste a lot of your time. So, I now often
subconsciously identify personality types before engaging them.

It keeps me from getting reeled in by trolls most of the time.
      They seem to be everywhere.

That's also probably why I'm big on only interacting with people
who identify themselves. I prefer people who use their real
names, and I DO click on their profile links, and often even
      visit their sites.

Ditto.. Just went thru all of them, lost track of time, and when I looked up it had ticked over to 2012! (I missed it ) Very clever humor, and brilliant illustrations. I also read one of the news articles featuring the site, and was surprised that it was 8+ years old - and yet still so relevant.

As for personality type, I related most to 'Eagle Scout' haha, but I can't say for sure how others would see me lol.

Great share Willie, and thanx for the laugh,

      Happy New Year everyone!

    Willie,

Wow, that was a nostalgic trip! ;-)

Hmm... I too resemble a couple of those stereotypes
and I think I'll keep that information to myself!

I agree, I tend to treat people with real names a lot more
seriously than those anonymous entities that frequent the
forum. And, I refuse to do business with anyone with no
    name.

    All I'm saying is...

There are a few of us that have been around long enough
to be classified as "Royals". The question is whether that
classification could be described as good or bad?

    Nice, share,

I think though that its mostly meant as comedy relief, which is sometimes needed, over all personalities are much more complex and so probably while entertaining, are not really indicative of what people are really like in person.

It is interesting when you meet people in person and compare their offline behavior to how they behave online, the difference can be striking.

However, when you apply those descriptions to how a person behaves, now you have something that can really gain traction, behavior is something that often is very unpredictable.

    Very entertaining, )
