This is inspiring. It lets you know, firstly, no matter how rough you think you may have it, someone else is going to have it worse... and also, it's all a matter of perspective. I'm pretty sure most of the people I know would be suicidal or would live hopeless lives at best if they had no limbs. However, this guy alone has probably touched more people's lives with his disability than most regular people will their entire lives.

It's ALL a matter of perspective!

  I`ve learned a long time ago that every single person is capable of amazing things. What we think of ourselves and the way we see our lives has nothing to do with what our lives actually consist of and what kind of person we are. But it`s hard to be objective about your own life, right? You`re living it, so you`re blinded by selfishness, ego, education, background, community, social interactions, by the way your parents raised you, by all types of feelings, etc. If we could all look at our lives with absolute objectivity, we would all realize that everything is possible, and therefore everyone can be all that they can be, and want to be. Fortunately or unfortunately, we cannot do this all the way, only to some extent, and those that are successful at mastering this, can live to be unique and amazing individuals, like this man, or other strong personalities, for example Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela. The man in this video decided to turn his loss into his advantage, he looked at it objectively for what it is, and decided not to be depressed, not to feel sorry for himself. He mastered the art of life to a level a lot of us haven`t.

This reminds my that I am not my body (no matter what Cosmo says) or my limitations. They are simply a charateristic of who I really am.

Great post, there's probably 99% of the people online right now that have petty complaints about their lives, (including me) this is a wake up slap of perspective for all of us.

Definately going to show the kids when they whine about not having a PSP. I guess the Wii, Gameboy and the Playstation 3 ain't good enough!!
