Be Careful What You Believe.

18 Months ago I started doing internet searches to find out how to make money on the internet. Many people were advertising that you just join up here and just do that and just do this and immediately you will be making money even when you are asleep. When you wake up in the morning you will see that many products have been sold and you will make lots of money.

It didn't work that quickly for me. In fact I have just had my first product sold, that I promoted as an affiliate through one product promoting company..
2 months ago I sold my 1st product through another product promoting company, as an affiliate. There is a lot of hype out there. You can't believe everything you read or hear.

It is hard to know who is telling you the truth and who isn't. I have found it is a bit of trial and error, with this internet marketing. But I am open to help from whomever can show me the truth.

  • THE truth? Which truth is THE truth? If someone showed you how to make $1,000 a week would that be THE truth?

What if you were shown and didn't follow through or only followed through a little or didn't test and modify your marketing? What if you didn't make money at it. Would it prove that it wasn't THE truth?

You need to be a little more detailed as to what you're looking for and how you will identify it as THE truth when you don't know THE truth.

    • Very well said. Or to put it another way - to get a better answer, ask a better question

You could literally hand someone the worlds finest money making system and they could fail at using it. It's for the same reason that so many homes have the floor exercisers in them that never get used.

  • Bediah,
I do agree with your train of thought here, i have one answer, MENTORS, no matter what field your in, i wrote a long post in another thread about it today, its the college sucks thread, in this forum. The hype, especially in networkmarketing is unreal, yet, some of us have done well there, the hype in Real Estate investing is even worse, there are RE gurus all over the place when the market was hot Regurgitating what others had said, and they didnt even invest in Real Estate. With that being said, find yourself a mentor, offer to be his lackey for free if he will teach you, People pay 10's of thousands for college and learn to party, and soem useful info, yet the thought of paying a MENTOR, or working for free is too the point they think Ridiculous. I would say go find a mentor, now heres a thread i just posted, take a look, and feel free to comment from your prespective. GOOD LUCK !!

    • Hi Arthur,

Sorry, but in theory I agree, in practise, I disagree.

In certain circumstances (very high-end 1 to 1 coaching) - perhaps.

But in the context of the OP - IE - searching around the internet - there is so much conflicting information, and so many of the most important issues deal with secret, ever-changing algorithms that I feel that it is way more efficient to learn from your own mistakes.

  • It's the doing part that trips up most people. My question is how much "doing" did you do?

Because I think there are legitimately hundreds of ways of making money online. And almost all of them work, some are BS, but most aren't. Usually the reason why people fail is that they didn't "do" enough.

How much real "doing" did you do Bedeiah? Not reading posts on here, not thinking about it, not dreaming about the money you'll be rolling in, but instead the actual down and dirty cranking out pages, websites, offers, campaigns, etc.

Might be something to think about.

  • Here's the deal. We are on the same world and all of us wants to make money. In this setting, it is inevitable to find people who take advantage of the weak, in this case, newbies.

In another instance, however, it may be that you are supplied with the right information but you don't have the skills and experience to rightly implement the system. So take your time. The internet is not a money making machine.
  • Hi,

I don't think there is a way of just pressing a few buttons and you make money in your sleep. If there is, I haven't found it, but I don't look anymore. Don't get me wrong, I used to though.

I'll tell you without any question, one peson you can trust. You probably have heard of him, John Thornhill. I did a weekly training course he ran a year ago, and not looked back since. I have written a brief post on my warrior forum blog about how to get started with internet marketing using what I learnt from John Thornhill.

    Hope it helps.

  • Good thing your sig is advertising money-making products. Maybe you should read them over if they work so well.

    • The "truth" is that 99% of outrageous income claims are BS.

And even if they're true, there are so many details unmentioned, that they still may as well be considered BS.

Probably the biggest lesson you'll ever learn in business.

Only knowledge and experience can help you determine what to "believe".
