LOL, I guess its still a profit regardless if its "honest" or not.

I am seeing a few people who have made their first sale from Article Marketing and Blogging. I am not a pro writer but I never seen the result from Article Marketing.

That's a great share. And yes, things like that were easy to do at one point. I remember how easy it was to rank a website back in the days. Now, you gotta go through hell to do it.

Interesting to see so many people got started with Adsense. It was about the 3rd thing I made money from (and was earning a fair amount from it too, until the Penguin update).

Here is the first method I used to earn online. It was very time consuming but it worked. The method will probably still work today, but I have moved on to less time consuming and more profitable endeavors.

I made my first $$$ on Fiverr(dot)com offering testimonial work and reviews. I then added content writing. I have received so many clients from Fiverr that want regular work, that i can not keep up with is. It COULD be more that full time work but not a big fan of being a slave to the keyboard. For me though it is fast and easymoney :) Lucklymany have been fine with leaving fiverr and added me on skype. When ever they need some work they message me and turn it around to them quickly. Anways enough with my story that is beginning to go a different way from the subject :D

Oh man...profit? I made lots of money, meaning revenue, before I saw my first glimpse of profit.

I'm pretty sure one of my early niche sites about some health issue was my first profit. I had other sites that made decent revenue, but many of them did not produce positive ROI due to my inexperience in ranking sites with SEO at the time.

Honestly, for the longest time breaking even and not losing $$ felt good enough. Then the clouds parted and my efforts started to pay off :D

But i think it's at least fair to distinguish between having profited and having revenue from a project. Just saying...:P:cool:

By accident. I had an affiliate link on a landing page I hadn't started to promote. Google sent some traffic to it and I made a $10 commission straight to my Paypal.

That was in 2008 and getting those payment notifications is still just as fun!

I would overlay my website link over popular youtube videos.

at one point getting up to 400 optins per day.

Lots of things like this worked back in the day including Adsense driven sites. Now some people are lucky to earn a few dollars a day on Adsense. Rest in peace the good times. :P

I made my first dollar using CPA simple email submits which paid $1.20 per submit

I mad a few cents with adsense, then a few dollars with ads then finally 10's, 100's and eventually thousands selling affiliate products like Ebooks and Web Hosting.

I think the next step is product creation :)

CPA is really an easy way to make money with PPC or PPV. I have made some money with PPC.

Fiverr. Until I realized that I was working some gigs for less than $4 an HOUR. Whoops. So I deleted those gigs, focused on the ones that were easy to do or easy to outsource, and then re-invested in affiliate marketing. Now I create my own products, sites, etc., full blown IM.

Mine was affiliate marketing sending people to netflix in 2003. There were some other competitors as well but I think they have died since then.

Made my first money with adwords, back in the day when they were 5 cents a click. Ah yes the good 'ol days of adwords when you could throw up an ad in 15 minutes and make sales within 30 minutes.

Buy yea, did the direct linking method to affiliate offers and they converted like crazy. Made my first $900 day doing that.

I made my first profits through my primary business being MLM.

I used different methods to get me traffic.. i.e. free and paid BUT the very first conversion came through a free traffic generation source being forum marketing.

The conversion was a result of adding a ton of value to my sales funnel in order to help my followers/ audience in their business and I also answered questions individually and in a lot of detail every time I received an e-mail from my one of my subscribers.

The first sale was form someone I took the time to answer when she responded to one of my e-mails...

That's when I had hope for myself in this industry and knew there was nothing else I wanted to do! :)

Why does this question come up so much? The "first profit" or "first dollar" or "first whatever" doesn't tell you anything about anything. You can make a profit dumpster diving for aluminum cans, but it's hardly a recipe for a sustainable business.

Talk to me about your 100,000th dollar or your 1,000,000th dollar. Heck, talk to me about your 10,000th dollar -- even at that small scale, you get a sense for what's working and what's not. But first profit? That's like trying to use the temperature when you woke up this morning to predict the weather 100,000 years from now... in Antarctica... Not completely worthless. But pretty close!

An ex-boyfriend and I started an online store selling homegoods back in '94. I can't tell you guys how much we made, but it was a LOT!!!! Way more than you might think. Oh, the good old days.

I think mine was on Clickbank in the "learn Spanish" niche. Yeah, it was. I remember because I was a Spanish major in college, so it was basically the only thing I knew about at the time. Wow, that was a long time ago. The product had a high front-end payout. I just checked Clickbank, and it's still selling. It's a program called Rocket Spanish.

What I know is that the goal should be to take what you know, use what made you money, and duplicate that success over and over again.

When I came online there are only PTC's sites and in those days it took me a year to reach $100 my first income. Now I can make it in less than 3 days from freelancing sites.

I made mine by having a website in a health niche. On the site I had a forum and answered questions about health issues. I sold a $400 dollar training course - people got a lesson a week for a year and I wrote it as I went. Should have written it all first - too stressful creating it week by week! People asked for the course FYI - I hadn't intended to make one.
