I made my first money online by writing letters for letterrep.com I have gotten money from them every month for 3 years for work that I did 3 years ago. Lately I haven't gotten anything because of recent hacks to the site but I am expecting them to resume payments soon. Also, at the same time, I wrote for associatedcontent.com and promoted affiliate programs via autorespinder and made some money with clickbank. I've made money with adsense but haven't had a payout yet cause I have not reached the payment threshold. Lastly, I make bits here and there by performing services for people who can't or won't do them themselves. The most I've made from the service model in one shot was $1000 for a sales letter/squeeze page site with some additional add ons. |

the first money i made was on Twitter when I advertised a product for commission. Since then, I have become a dedicated affiliate marketer with 4-figure profits / month.

Advertising. I sold space on my website back in the late 90's. In one day I got $1,800 in orders and was floating on air.

Probably Ebay, although i wasn't using it to make money as such, just get something back for my old stuff. The first money i made selling a service was web design. At the time I wasn't actively looking to make money but just fell upon the opportunity. I was browsing a hip hop forum and someone was asking for web design referrals and I shot him a PM with the URL for a personal site that i'd designed as a sample of what i could do and the price. I charged £175 for a basic html site with flash elements (CMS's were not all the rage back then) and got paid by the client sending the money in an envelope to my house. Not very professional but I was only about 16 at the time and didn't really have the first clue about proper conduct. Even though it wasn't much money it shows that there is money to be made online even when you're not looking for it. Just be ready to have some sort of portfolio at hand to show what you can do. Fortunately I do things a bit more professionally these days. |

From an IM point of view, I created my own product which I'd promote through my blog. That was my first contact with the IM world from a proper, concious point of view. However, many years ago (2000 and 2001), I made a few thousand bucks buying and selling stuff on ebay before I even knew what IM was. It was some sort of a hobby for me back then... who would have known back then that I was to eventually make my full living out of internet? |

I wrote articles for Associated Content after having learned about this 'goldmine' on another forum Then wrote articles at $5 a pop. Then I got a click for 20 cents from Adsense. Then a $25 affiliate commission. Then a $80 clickbank commission. And so on.. Still not hooked on Clickbank and still into smaller in-house affiliate programs. Will be launching my first Clickbank product in 2 weeks. Invested about $800 into it, so will be interesting to see the payoff. I hope it takes off, so I can reinvest that into more products. |

Bum marketing in the Forex niche. I had several bum marketing efforts that flopped but the one that I churned out quickly and was a simple review type landing page got more sales than any other bum marketing effort I'd tried before. Still gets occasional sales now but I think the articles have sunk in the search engines. |

Mine wasn't any different from most people. I have always believed in making money online due to the convenience it offers. Of course, i tried and fail in several business online but hung with the Plug-In Profit Site. From my experience i have learnt that winners never quit. I guess that was what helped not some rocket science or whatever.

I made my first $200 with a post i made on a thread relating to a product on a forum that related to the product. I got an e mail about a coupon code with affiliate link and used that link. Probably the fastest $200 I ever made and the easiest. To bad the coupon code only went for 7 days.

I made my first sales when I wrote a book about something that I was passionate about. In my case it was a book about sleep paralysis. I then created a website, simple sales page and sent traffic to it by creating a video which I uploaded to youtube, myspace etc. I also found similar websites which agreed to place a link to my product on their sites. I also did a bunch of backlinking and forum posting. The book was starting to sell well and gain momentum and then as often happens life got in the way of my plans and I lost focus. I now give the book away for free and still get around 20 sign ups to my list per week. |

I made my first $100 through article writing. My first actual order was $120, so it gave me quite the encouragement, although my first sale was through a random article. However, it was only through my first private client that I actually made any sort of decent income.

I must be a lot older than the people answering on this thread. I made my first $100 babysitting when I was a teenager. Fast forward to the Internet, I didn't make my first 100 on any one thing. I made it on a combination of affiliate programs in my main niche site and an info product I wrote. I had both in operation at about the same time, so the money started coming in from both at about the same time. |

Well, technically at my first real job which was at pizza hut. But online was opening up a site and selling products(clothing), there is nothing quite like getting your first sale. It's special to realize that you can generate your own income.

My first 26 bucks online came from an online surveys program on PayDotCom. That was about three years ago, and to this day I have no idea how I made the sale. I think it was a complete accident because I never once promoted the affiliate link. Weird, right? But that little "accident" was all it took for me to realize that there was something to all this IM stuff. So like many others, I started bum marketing like a freak of nature. I then started making $30 and $35 here and there promoting MarketHealth free trial offers via EZA, USFreeAds, Backpage, and Craigslist. My first $100 commission came from selling a six-month supply of Provillus hair loss product. I actually ended up making over $800 in two days with that product, all from writing and stockpiling 50 hair loss articles and then submitting them to EZA all on the same day. (I direct linked straight to the product page... lazy.) Doesn't work like that anymore. |

Hair loss is an insanely competitive niche, and I doubt I'd be able to rank well in Google for the types of keywords I was targeting... not without an OBSCENE amount of backlinking! I'm too lazy and scatterbrained for all that business. I think it's Amazon for this kid, now. Lots of low-competition, product-specific keywords. Easy commissions. I kinda like easy.
