Upwork. Took about 2 weeks of bidding. It's TOUGH when you're just starting out and have no reviews or portfolio. But the Law of Averages is written in stone...if you just keep bidding, eventually you will land something, or you will land one of the invitations you'll recieve. My first review came from simply installing an app to test it out. I was paid $1, and much more valuable- I recieved a 5 star review. After that, I was able to land a job writing silly clickbait articles for $15 each and made my first 100 bucks doing that. If you're just starting out, I know it can be kind of demoralizing, but keep at it and you will inevitably land something. -Joe |

For me it was in 2005 when I bought a domain for a nyc forum after the site did not get anymore I sold the name for $250.00 What I remember about the sell was that we met in manhattan and he payed me for the name. A few months later I bought a domain for $7.00 and sold it one hour later for $100.00 |

How-did-you-make-your-first-1-online? Oh, this thread makes me go through my memories of the last 10 years. I've been a member of warriorforum since 2007 and started with internet marketing 2 years before that. What made me jump into online marketing? Well, somewhere in 2004 I read about Corey Rudl and his "Car Secrets Revealed". It was a story of a pioneer internet success back in the 90s. It made me realize the difference between marketing something offline and online. It was so inspiring to me that I really wanted to learn how to use tools on the net, I wanted to be able to use internet any way I wanted. I started to read anything I could about affiliate programs, about creating my own products. I was so enthusiastic. I participated in everything... Site Build It, Insiders Secrets To Marketing Your Business on the Internet, I applied for CJ, Sharesale, Linkshare, Amazon. I've used all CPA networks, I even joined Cafepress. How-did-I-make-my-first-dollar-online? Back in 2005 it was easy to make money with webhosting plans. I remeber putting a simple website with webhosting plans and doing AdWords - that was it! AdWords back then was nothing like today. You could use thousands of keywords to promote anything - no penalty. Quality guidelines of the landing page - nothing to worry about. Sending PPC visitors directly to Amazon allowed...Oh it was so fun. SEO? You could just create a domain with the right domain name, then create profiles with links and you're on the first page. Someone mentioned Squidoo...I created Squidoo lens back then named Travian Cheats. I was number 1 on Google 3 hours later, thousands of visitors pouring in and clicking on my affiliate offer for free movies. Promoting dating sites like Plenty of Fish was so easy...I better stop. It makes me cry thinking about how strict everything is today. It must be said though that today things are much better regulated and that makes it harder for manipulators to clutter internet with very bad stuff. Today internet is a better place when it comes to removing unfair practices. People used to put out thousands of pages of automatic robot made posts which were unreadable and of no use whatsoever, but were outranking really good content and making money just because they were there on the net in thousands. People used to be dragged to the page with nothing useful to read or see and almost forced to give money with endless popup windows. Was that something that makes sense in the long run?? No! Internet is different today, many things are in fact much better today. There still is lots of opportunities today. I'm making money today too. If you find a normal legit way of promoting stuff online that works - there's nothing better than that! It's a stable concept, it's not stressful, it's making money...Anyway thanks for this thread, it made me think about things I haven't thought about for a long time... |

Back in the 90's I used E-bay to make money. This is before I had a digital camera even. Still remember walking to the one hour photo and getting my film developed and putting into my scanner. People would pay me with personal checks and pay pal was not necessary. Ah yes, the good old days of yore. Funny how hard it is to make a buck now. All the hoops you have to jump. Selling on the internet is hard, even if your product is on amazon.

I started selling fake watches in 2011, they were off good quality so most didn't ask about it. I earned 1000$ over the first 3 months with little work, then people started asking me more questions and I felt it got poisonous. I didn't have the gut to continue that kind of work. |

After some considerable trial and error and early offline success, the first "dollar" I actually made online was from an article I wrote debunking the Mayan "prophecy" craze in the 90's regarding the end of the world in 2012. Ever since, article syndication has been a nearly exclusive traffic generator for all of my niches.

Mine was email submit CPA and to this day this makes money for me. I believe in multiple streams of income so even if one thing is working well, it is also good to have one or two other things. Not too many diversions though, or you will get lost, but just enough to give some options in case rules change for CPA, ad-sense and so on and that business suddenly stops making money.

I built a website for a small UK record label after connecting with the owner on a forum. Upon completion, he posted $150 in a CD box to my house. Must've been around 2001-2002 time. Just looked them up, the label is still around and hasn't grown much in 15 years... |

Hi: I made my first dollar online with affiliate marketing. I purchased 100 clicks from solo ads testimonials on Facebook. Ran those 100 clicks to a landing page and got 3 sales. The niche was Law of Attraction and I'm still running ads and working in that niche. Great stuff. Dan |

It took me 2 days. It happened just a couple days ago actually just selling used phones on eBay. I ended up making $280 profit. They sell incredibly fast, like minutes after listing. It sucks that I wont be able to make big money until my limits increase though. 5 items/ $500 per month. :/

I made my first 1$ up to like 4 or 5k from a game called minecraft. So, you have a server and people who play on your server can buy virtual items from your store. I can still make 1k per month and I can scale up to decent 5k if I really really try hard and every month is not guarenteed. However, I want to scale up more than that and it's less consistent.

My first dollar came from Ebay selling my own stuff. Once you make your first dollar, your mind instantly annihilates your beliefs that making money online is not possible! This, in turn encourages you to want to make more money online. So, I would suggest taking the easiest way possible to make your first buck and scale it up from there. I still sell on Ebay every now and then, but I don't enjoy running to the post office every day, so I did want to make that my full-time job. Now I promote my own info products online such as: - email marketing - list building - social media marketing - video marketing Working online is the best! Ronnie Rokk Smith |

My first dollar came on Ebay I was selling Specialty Merchandise Corporation stuff. Anybody remember them? The infomercial they had starred Tom Bosley who was Mr. C or Mr. Cunningham on the old show Happy Days. He was there rep I guess for a while and I listed some stuff on ebay and it sold and I got exited and kept listing stuff and selling it easily until it all came crashing down when everybody started selling the same stuff on ebay and everybody was undercutting everyone else until there was no more profit to be made but I cleared 8k in sales and 4k was profit before it ended for me. Before that I had struggled to make money online for many, many years but refused to give up and it paid off. |

I made my first dollar in the Law of attraction niche. I created a squeeze page, promoted a product from Clickbank, bought several solo ads, and the rest is history. Perhaps I was lucky, but I made money back then on my first attempt. Still moving forward.... Dan |

I made my first $1 online from a site called postloop.com. On that site, you were paid to post on forums and blogs. I made the payout of $5, and then I cashed out. When the money arrived in my Paypal, I was overjoyed, and from that day I was hooked to making this online this work.

I have earned my very first $1 from microworkers.com, Honestly it was not so good feelings for me because i was in a critical situation and was desperately looking for making money online back to 2010. It was a lot of work to make $1 on microworkers.com. After a few days when i made around $10 i just moved on to oDesk and few other freelancing platforms and i never looked back.
