using two autoresponders

hello everybody

i am using mailchimp for my first list - my own product, which i will offer in clickbank later as an affiliate product, but the list just promotes my own product

then i am using imnica as a second list - to promote affiliate offers of the niche that my product is in plus give lots of useful information.

my question is - is this a good idea?

secondly, when i am sending messages from my second list, is it a good idea to promote my own product over and over again, as i am sure i will run out of offers in my niche to promote after a while, right?

thank you

Just from the top of my head, I don't think you are allowed to practice IM with mailchimp.

    Edit:

    Read this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

Seems you can market your own offer and can't do third party offers. But why don't go for one that allows both?

It is not a good idea to have your lists for given niche
      spread across multiple autoresponder services.

      Why?

It makes effective list management much harder and
      less automatic.

For example, if someone is on one autoresponder account
and joins your list on the other service too, how do you
make sure that you don't send them duplicate messages?

Also, if they decide to unsubscribe from your list by clicking
on the unsubscribe link with one provider, they won't get
automatically removed from the other autoresponder
      account.

It's much better to house your autoresponder for a given
niche using one solution that gives you the best overall
      balance of performance and features.

As Shaun said, it makes it harder but on the other hand if you have a huge lists its better to not to put all your eggs in 1 basket.

So it you are starting use just 1 but if you have huge lists then use 2-3.

Hi Jum, firstly I would ask, why do you have 2 seperate accounts in the first place? Do you see any benefit in having 2? I don't think there are any benefits in having 2 autoresponders so I wouldn't personally do it myself. You are creating extra work for yourself in transferring names between lists and you are making tracking extremely difficult.

Also, I don't think you will run out of offers in your niche unless it is extremely small. In addition I would suggest you don't just send out offer after offer, send some free info that provides real value to your readership.

    Cheers

    G

It seems not. Mailchimp expressly precludes affiliate marketing in their terms of service, and if they find out that you've done any affiliate marketing, even if you don't use their service to do it, they'll still close down your account, and they even admit this openly, as explained here.
