Just got the update notice on my browser for version 9.

Here is a story about it:

It is promised to be smaller and faster.

I've been using it for a few weeks. It works great. I love it!

Loads fast. Crashes less often. I prefer it over previous versions.

I seem to have 9.0.1 ... I think I must have mine set to download and install these things automatically (not sure that's necessarily wise?). I certainly don't remember installing it. But sometimes when I turn the computer off, it does say "installing updates" before it goes off ...

I've been trained over the years to avoid upgrades if possible.

    Why?

Generally upgrades are an excuse to release something that will require another learning curve. Rarely have I seen an upgrade that leaves the interface intact.

My last Firefox upgrade pointed out the ... uh ... lack of thought or care for their users.

I see that Firefox is losing ground compared to Chrome ... I wonder why?

I used to use FF as my main browser but lately I tend to use G-Chrome... Simply because it's much faster.... Yes, it's true that Chrome has less features from IM's point of view... I have not tried the latest version of FF so I might install it and see the difference.

All the versions of Firefox I've had seem to freeze and crash frequently when you have several windows open. These days I prefer Chrome, I just wish it had all the features and add ons I like!

Will it be faster than the latest version? I switched to Chrome because Firefox had relatively slower connection speeds. But Chrome is resource intensive and it slows down my computer especially if I'm opening a lot of tabs.

I'll upgrade to Firefox 9 and see if it has changed for the better.
