Anyone using Google Chromebook already?

Hi Warriors,

As you know Google released Chromebook a few weeks ago... It's meant to boot in 8 seconds... Is that true? What about other features?

Apparently CB won't be available in Australia for the time being but I'm interested in hearing some feedback from warriors who are using it already.

Thanks!

I don't use one but I've seen them before. A Chromebook is more of a netbook. Not a lot of storage on the device, and not a lot of power under the hood.

For my normal day to day work I really need a full laptop because I never know when I'll need to create/edit pictures and documents on the fly. I believe that Chromebooks are mostly run on their Chrome extensions, which are like apps for smart phones.

You can read some full reviews on the internet about them, such as this one at Engadget.

Chromebooks are like iPads and mobile devices (as stated previously by other warriors). It has practically nothing but a fast startup and a browser as well as extensions and apps, but nothing fascinating.

If you're looking to purchase a chromebook, I would recommend buying an iPad instead. It's smaller and has much more apps. But, I personally use an iPod for all those needs. It's extremely small and fits in my pocket, the browser works very well (has multiple tabs!), it has many extensions including PayPal, eBay, FTP (amazing), file readers and editers, etc.

These are my thoughts on the chromebook. I am not saying that it's bad, but it's just not very developed yet. I do understand Google's idea but it's not something completely new and has many flaws.
