If someone you know is buying something online you should be getting commission for it.

I have been lurking here for a while and after being active the past few days I read a bunch of the same threads asking some basic advice on how to start making money online. I think the most simple way to start seeing commissions is to point your friends and family to sites your an affiliate with. Sounds like a DUH thing but I see my Girl Friend buying **** from a site the first thing I do is sign up as a affiliate and have her send that link to all her friends to buy more useless **** they would be buying anyways. The amount of make up and shoes/boots some of her friends buy is insane.

There are now even more networks that even offer electric and gas plans for residential and commercial (in states that are De-regulated) Why not get paid every time someone you know pays bills or buys something?

Start looking at your family and friends buying habits and find the sites and stores they shop at then find the network they offer affiliate programs for and apply.

If your getting nothing but rejections then you need to check and make sure your not in a state they do not want to pay the taxes in or what ever, or your site is not just a squeeze page or unrelated to the place your applying for. (do not apply for a Disney affiliate if your sites about bondage and midget porn)

Everything I see, I see $$$ and opportunity. I think once you start seeing things that way the money will start to come.

I agree with pointing your family and friends towards your affiliate links. For all of the people always asking questions on how to make money the problem is lack of a bigger vision that they will stick with for years to come. A lot of people are jumping from plan to plan because they never created a bigger purpose and sculpted a plan on achieving it. I used to work on niches where I had no passion and eventually quit because it was painful writing one piece of content. I finally created a vision that I am excited to wake up to. It will take me some time to see great success but I believe in it 100% and am willing to go to the grave fighting for it. I also continue to educate myself and avoid distractions that lead me away from my goal.

I've always kept my family out of it unless they specifically ask, not that there's anything wrong with it. I've just always tried to keep family and business separate.

All depends on the product and your family.
Say you have a brother or sister why would you not have them sign up electric through you? It is not like they do not need power at home. But if you selling only get rich quick schemes I can understand why you wouldn't want to mix it. (30 f-ing up-sells is nothing I wish on any family member)

people have different experience with their family... some of them think their family is their best people while other people say that they hate their family. ... welll ,,, depends on how our family is.. as long as we think they're precious to us, just share good things and in return you get your commission.. that's totally fine.. they will not mind about it

well if you have a highly supportive family and friends, they would be the perfect avenues to go viral on your marketing campaign

Hmmmmm... I guess it depends. If a friend was gonna buy something on Amazon anyway, I might create an affiliate link to give her. Buttttttttttttt I wouldn't push some sort of ZOMG BEST CLICKBANK SOFTWARE EVAR BUY IT NAO unless my friend specifically asked for it.

Selling to friends and family... doesn't really feel right, especially if it's something that none of them particularly want (and IF they buy, that's only because they know you).

I see your point but it starts to become a little like some Network Marketing where (IMHO) you're being encouraged to try and leach off your friends and family first.

Maybe I wasn't listening to the trainers properly but that's what it felt like to me.

On a total, thread hi-jacking side note...

I think it'd be very good for schools and charities to have Amazon affiliate links on they're site and encourage their supporters to buy through their links and help funding without actually asking for additional money. Makes no difference to the buyers but potentially a lot of difference to the 'cause'.

This thread rings true. But how do you scale up? Do you bug them constantly and become a pain the butt? NO.

Eventually you need more than friends or family to sell to. Trust me.
