How Do I Keep My Online Identity Separate From Real-Life Identity?
Right now, I am only just starting in the world of online marketing, though I have been freelancing for a better part of last year, under my real name.
Now I am circumspect of moving forward with my real name, especially if it could have repercussions in my future academic and research work. How do I go about creating an online identity that would mirror my real-life identity, yet at the same time be easily non-identifiable to the latter?
What happens to my freelancing? Ideally, I would like to get more freelancing work from the websites I build/blogs I write etc, but then I would not like that being linked to my real name or identity. With websites, bank accounts, email addresses etc., would that be an issue? What about my photograph (like the one on the left)
Guess my biggest concern is when I start interacting with people on Skype or delivering webinars etc, what do I tell them about myself? What if I make a video and my face can be linked to my real identity?
Just keen to see what everything thinks...happy to answer more in case I have missed out on something.
Prince.
