Country related listing - Google

Newbie with a question here: my blog doesn't show up in a Google.com search but it does in a Google.co.uk search. After a bit of research I found out my website was listed as a UK website with Google, which fair enough it is, but my content isn't relative to just the UK and it says I can unlist my website. Will unlisting have a positive or negative effect on my search engine traffic? Or is this not worth worrying about? Thanks!

  • Go to Google webmaster central and set USA as Ur country.

    Thnx
  • Well, it's a .co.uk domain after all.. .)

Personally, I'd not expect it to appear in google.com search, but with some SEO upgrades, while it's getting more popular, I don't see a reason, why it couldn't appear in .com search after a while, but I'm frankly perhaps even bigger newbie than you're at the very moment, so don't take my word for it.

Also, good luck with your blog, looks nice. I clicked you some AdSense too <3

    Cheers,
    George
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • PS. I just did a search for your blog in a google.com and it's on 5th place...
  • Thanks for your help gs, hmm wierd, maybe it's got something to do with the proxy server I used to access Google.com seeing as it redirects automatically to google.co.uk over here
