    I use Aweber.

    IM is a good niche.

This forum is a good place to start, but looks like you've already started

    Good luck!

The more 'Pain' in the market the more hungry they will be.

This is why the best mega markets are

      - Make Money Online
      - Weight Loss
      - Dating

Build an Authority blog in one of these (or a sub niche)

The UFO niche i can kind of see, but i would be very interested in knowing how a niche like 'ancient history' can be made very profitable.

I'm not interested in entering that particular niche myself, but i think understanding that might open my mind a fair bit to the possibilities online. What sort of range of products can you promote in that niche?

You can always build the list for Ancient History by selling books about it or DVD's etc from Amazon.com.

I would then do some research to see in there are any ancient history forums and go see what people are interested in and if there is anything for sale like a subscription to something in ancient history that you could become an affiliate with.

This is the same process I go through in any niche.

I've actually been surprised by the products and seminars for sale and being purchased by people in some areas I'd never even thought of before.

Depends on what your planning on selling. Some people love getting 25K-100K lists and are happy with a low percent of them buy from that large list. I built targeted lists that are much smaller but most people here just want a huge list and are happy with small percentage of conversation. I would rather have a smaller list and higher percent of happy people I am marketing to but that is all relevant to what your selling.

How do you build a small targeted list rather than a massive one?
What do you do to succedd it?

        Zonkow,

You build a targeted list by letting the right targets self select their way on to the list. For example, you could have a weight loss list, or you build a targeted list like weight loss for women, post pregnancy who want to do Yoga to lose weight...Your marketing then speaks to your audience.

        Regards,

        Wayne

I suggest that you choose a niche that interests you and about which you have some knowledge. Perhaps that is new electronic gear or baby diapers. The key is not so much the niche as the keywords that you decide to tackle. Almost any "niche" can be profitable if you follow the right steps. I'll be happy to provide one-on-one advice once you get to the next step beyond niche selection.

Ask yourself, "What interests me?" "What do I need?" "What do I want?" "For what things do I enjoy shopping?" "What information do I wish I had?" The answers to those questions are all potentially profitable niches.

The biggest ever popular niches are lose weight (especially at this time of year), health (desperate buyers in certain health subniches, for example acne or high blood pressure), personal development (for example, goal setting, self esteem, reducing stress, again very popular at this time of year as most people would like to change some aspect of themselves) and relationships (finding a partner, keeping a partner, getting an ex back).

Some hobby niches such as golf can also do very well- take a look at Amazon or Barnes and Noble and check out some of their top selling books and you should get plenty of ideas.

I use Aweber too and have been more than happy with their services.

It's now a multi-billion dollar a year industry world-wide. There are tens of thousands of Amazon books on the subject, telescopes are hot sellers in this market and enthusiasts are diverging into related subjects such as government conspiracies, Mayan archaeology, astronomy, space travel etc. The persistence of this very popular notion continues to grow year after year.

There are three markets that you can choose from that are evergreen and always have hungry buyers: Health, Wealth and relationship.
Of course these are very broad markets and you need to dig in to them deeper.
For email marketing service, Aweber is reliable, cheap and easy to use.

        Hi Akinet,

There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread, and I don't really have any more to add. I just wanted to say that you should make sure that you only focus on one niche at a time, and do not start multiple such projects at once. It is essential that you devote all your spare time to just one project as it takes a lot of effort to make it successful. Choose whatever you are most interested in from the various suggestions put forward in this thread and work hard to make it happen!

I would suggest tapping into Internet Marketing and Make Money Online niches, because these two are probably the biggest when it comes to list building (considering the ease of list building), because you will be able to find a lot of swap partners, and also, you won't have problems getting traffic to your offer (solo ads or banner exchanges).

Of course, you can try other niches, but I am not sure whether they will be as profitable as IM and MMO, because with these two, you have a lot of space to expand.

And for autoresponder I highly recommend ebizac and aweber - great prices on ebizac (and good deliverability rates), and on aweber - very good deliverability rates, although prices are a bit higher.

By far the niches that are always worth the effort to build lists are : IM, health and fitness, (weight loss especially), forex.

Those niches are proved to work for years and there will always be customers ready to buy something in those niches.

Once you have some list and some money coming in you can also try another niches and see how it goes but if you are just begining i would recommend to stick with those. This way you will know that you will always have customers ready to make you money.

        I hope this helps you

Well listen, you need to concentrate on something that people actually need, and maybe even consume on an everyday basis. You have lots and lots of things to chose from, I can tell you that the best niches , with the best potential are the ones that are consumed on a regular basis and not the ones that are already marketed like crazy. This fast only increases your competition

Much of what has been said above is pretty good advise already.

The advantage of promoting something in the "make money" niche is that you can present a clear return on investment when selling your product. E.g. If your product can help them make $1k per month, every month, and only costs $97 dollars, it's kinda a no-brainer to buy! Even if it were $1k it would still be worthwhile.

You can't go wrong picking one of the "Big 3" - Health, Wealth and Relationships. Even though their absurdly competitive there's so much traffic going to these kind of sites that you're almost assured of getting some traffic. For example, health is a good one because people can be desparate to get rid of...whatever it is - (use it in search or Google Keyword Tool) and want relief immediately so if you can offer them a solution they'll happily pay you for it.

    Hey ,

There are infinite number of niches and sub niches exist , you really need to understand what they are looking for and provide the solution as a product.

Here are some niches that i am used to make 10k+ in 3 months from scratch.

    1. Get your Ex Back

    2. How to attract a women

    3. how to build muscle

    4. Make up

    5. Learn to play guitar

These are some sort of sub niches of some huge markets and also tons out there

Focus on it , build on it , profit on it

    Thanks

Check out Amazon and search for niches within their magazines - you'll find lots of great niches. If the niche supports national magazine sales, it's a buyer hungary niche. Also, try going to a big box hardware stoire and just look at everything they have. Also, look around your house for things that you buy.
Also try Google Zeitgist - http://www.googlezeitgeist.com/en#en/
If you are going to market hard products, check out the top product list on eBay - http://product-index.ebay.com/best_selling_1.html

There is also a great application for eBay - http://www.terapeak.com/ - that allows you to drill into hot products on EBay

focus on one niche and a few sub components of the main niche. For example: Weight loss --> weight loss for women--> weight loss after pregnancy

    Or
    Childrens Toys---> outdoor toys---->trampolines

don't make the common mistake of having 20 different niches and not servicing them adequately. Become an expert in one, then if you like micro-niche (or products) drill down from the main niche for your smaller sites.

The two best types of niches are desperation niches and hobby niches. Desperation niches include people who are desperate for an immediate solution to their problems. These people are the easiest to sell to. However, they are in a worried and sometimes depressed state, so these customers may not be that fun to deal with.

Examples of evergreen desperation niches include:
    • Weight loss
    • Make more money
    • Freedom from debt
    • Fitness
    • Dating
    • Astrology
    • Parenting
    • Self defense
Hobby niches include people who are passionate about a hobby and willing to spend money on it- over and over again. Unlike the desperation niche, these people are more fun to have as customers.

Examples of evergreen hobby niches include:
    • Learning an instrument
    • Sports and athletics
    • Cooking
    • Guns
    • Video games
    • Cars
    • Home improvement
    • Pets

Now, now.....I think it would be better if you learned some basic market research skills so you can find your own niches. In a nutshell, any niche where people spend money and are repeat purchasers of any goods and services would be a good niche to build a list in.

Also which email marketing service to use ? I want cheap & reliable service.
That's difficult to answer without knowing your overall business plan, your budget, what specific functionality you're looking for, etc. There are hundreds of autoresponder companies and self-hosted solutions out there, of only a handful are ever mentioned in this forum. Then there are total e-commerce solutions like Infusionsoft, 1Shoppingcart, Nanacast, etc. that have autoresponder capabilities.

If I were you, I would draft up a basic business plan first so you can hone in on what you'll need to get started and doing some basic market research to find out which market / demographic you'll want to target.

Ideally you want to build a list in a niche you have an interest in. This will make providing content that much easier.

Regarding what is the best niche. In my opinion there are thousands to chose from. Internet marketing is all about traffic and conversions. If you can find the traffic that wants what you are selling, you won't have any problems making money.

I use aweber, even though I have tried many.

As for what niche, I think you can create a list for any niche.

I currently have lists being created in 5 different areas and I've helped others create lists in so many different niches, I have lost count.

However, picking a niche that will make money faster takes some research. If you have high volume keywords with not too much competition or something with a lot of competition but you get really targeted traffic, you can still make money pretty quickly.

Go to the best seller lists on Amazon or what is trending on Google for some ideas and then do some keyword research to see if they get enough traffic.
