Fake Page Rank Questions

I have an associate who seems obsessed by Fake Page Rank when setting up links.

I on the other hand only do random checks on new links and sometimes I only do it after the links are set up.

How widespread is this fake page rank scam ? So far I have only seen the Pagerank seems to be faked sign once so should I be more carefull ?

I mean how do people fake page rank and if they do it seems alot of effort just to scam a few link payments.

    Hello, grumpyb: (Hey! Offline, that's what some of my family members call me! )

    I haven't had any experience with, or noticed any instances of faked Page Rank. I can understand why some unethical marketers might try to do it: because they think it will impress their targeted marks.

    But I am hearing more and more these days that Page Rank isn't as respected as an achievement indicator as it once was.

    Ultimately, the proof will be in the pudding, as they say. Products or services being sold by Page Rank scammers probably won't live up to their fake reputation, so customers will be one-off, never to return a second time.
