How are these guys doing their marketing? :]

While I've been training for SEO, I've also been into Internet Marketing and Social Media Marketing.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

I'm in the music industry, and while I was on Youtube a year ago, I noticed a young American girl (singer named Maddi Jane) who started having viral videos. Every time she uploaded one. Keeping opinions to a minimum, her talent is just decent, and I happen to know she is backed by an Internet Marketer who has been doing a good job from video 1.

I did a little research on her Facebook Fan page of 600,000+ users. I've noticed that many of her fans aren't from the United States. Not what I thought. Not even Canada, UK, Australia, which are usually music hot-spots. Using a tool, I got these numbers of where her fans are from. The total numbers are rounded to nearest 1000.

USA: 61,000 fans / Other Western countries: 8,000 / 10,000 / 8,000

However, in a group of non-English speaking countries I got totals of:

154,000 fans / 53,000 / 14,000 / 14,000 / 11,000 / 16,000 / 54,000

Most of these fans are age 13-19. And with exact age match, that's about 220,000 of her fans. I've noticed the same demographic for her Twitter. They are not fake, and they're definitely active in the FB/Twitter/Fan websites/community they've formed.

These countries are a lot smaller than the USA. And even Russia had less than 900 fans! It's clear they are targeting and tapping into a very "easy" market of children and teenagers from these countries.

I wanted to know how I could do the same for the singers I manage? One of those countries in particular seems to hold a lot of fan-power Where could I start to target these people. Apart from targeting Maddi Jane fans, and similar "competitors". How should I be thinking about in terms of Internet marketing?

Thank you.

You just explained HOW in your post: Working well since day one. Engaging with your target audience.

Where could I start to target these people.
The obvious answer is clone what others have done well and add your own swing.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

      Hi Fernando.
      Thank you :]
Sure, I know the theory of "how". But in terms of application, how could I go about targeting those people(?)

If you are looking to do this on Facebook the best way is to target these individuals using the Facebook Ad system and send the traffic to a Facebook Fan page.

The Ad system will allow you to choose countries and the demographics you described specifically....

      Hi guys.
Thanks so much for your answers.
I have just set a new targeted ad on Facebook. Probably should be reviewed by the morning. I am just testing it, with a "lifetime budget" for now at prime times. Seeing how it goes with the demographic settings.

If anyone else has anything more to share, please do so - would love to read your views and answers.

      Arianne.
