Newbie to IM seeking advice.

Hi there,

I'm looking to get into running websites or making money from the internet in some form. Although I'm intelligent, my degree was in English Literature and I have little business training or experience and little webdesign ability, but I'm eagar to learn.

If anybody can advise me on how much of a business education I would have to get, how I would get it and what areas I might want to focus on with my experience, and how I would find possible ventures.

Thanks in advance, I know its vague but hopefully you can help.

A bit off-topic but I'm amazed that you joined this forum in 2006 and your first post comes 6 years later.

On the other hand though - you could start by using the Search button of the forum and looking for posts similar to yours.

You can also go to the WSO (Warriors Special Offers) section and get the FREE ones (for most of them, you might need to subscribe to their e-mail lists)

    Good luck!

I believe browsing through the different forums here on the WF will enable you to learn knowledge that will dwarf everything you learned from your offline education.

Be eager to dig information here and don't be shy in throwing questions in the appropriate areas of the WF. There are tons of people here who are willing and ready to help you out any time of the day.

Just start learning and take action on as much as you can. Each little venture you undertake you learn from, and after a lot of learning you will begin to see connections between things on the Net that you never saw before, and it'll lead to opportunities. Also, taking action on the little ideas you DO come up with will sometimes lead to new opportunities that you never saw until you actually put it all in action. So if you do those two things you'll start running into more and more opportunities and your business will grow. Don't think it is easy, cause it is not. But if you are intelligent, you can do it - I'm an English major too!

Welcome to the world of IM!

Advice - do not chase every shiny object you see, or that is put in front of your face. Have a look around the forum, ask questions, have a goal, and take mini steps to reach your goal.

Decide how you want to make money online, affiliate marketing, selling physical products, information products, ebay, amazon, etc etc.

Have a real think about what you want, then start asking questions and working towards your goals!

Hey Brain, listen, your talent of writing can be of some use at the very least, but aside from that, you dont have to have any type of business degree, and very very little website sense, ultimately, you can pay people to build all your sites, but the much cheaper way is learning how to do it on your own, its not hard, its not expensive, and if you will PM me or contact me at my blog or email http://joshua-sky.com info@joshua-sky.com i would be happy to educate you a little further on the matter so that you may make a better decision about the whole idea

Create a service thread and offer your writing skills. Because you have a degree in english literature, you could charge a premium at $15 for a 500 word article. All you would need is a few sales a day and you would make a pretty comfortable living!
