Organization Tips Desperately Needed

I now am up to 3 blogs. JUST 3! And my computer is a virtual mess.

I have folders crowding my desktop, each full of a bunch of wayward text files with notes, links, keyword lists, etc.

I know some people have LOTS more than three blogs/websites that are active. My question is this:

How on earth do you keep track of everything?

Is there some sort of program I can download? Something that would be useful for me to keep everything neat and organized for each blog?

What do YOU do to stay organized?

    I know there are programs you can download, but I'm the old fashioned type -I like to keep everything down with pen and paper.

    The way I stay organized is by using some divided notebooks. This way everything is in one book, but divided into sections for each blog, squidoo lens, etc.

    I also keep a daily planner on my desk, to list daily projects and deadlines. I can then check each task off as I complete it.

    Your desktop must be one chaotic mess!

    Set up your file directories so they make sense to you.

    Over time, I gravitated to a file structure something like this. Maybe you can get some ideas that will work for you.

    Folder: Current Work
    Under this, I have files for each blog/site. Under each blog/site, I have files for articles, ideas, work in progress, etc.

    Folder: Keywords
    Again, sub files for each particular area

    Folder: Computer
    Under this, wordpress blogs, with sub-files noting any editing that I have done to any wordpress template used on my sites.

    Folder: Affiliates

    Etc.

    I also use a spreadsheet to track backlinks and social bookmarks. Tedious, yes, but helpful.

    You have to find a sytem that works for you. Some of my sub-folders would not make any sense to someone else, but it works for my warped mind.

    My recommendation would be David Allen's GTD system. I've found it's an easy system to pick back up if i start losing the habit of staying organized.
