    The point of youtube channel views and the backlinks to it works very similar to a website. When you have a strong youtube channel your videos get more strengths as well. It builds an authority.

    When you have a website that has a high PR or the root domain has high authority, it is easier to rank the pages of your website. This is exactly the same principal in youtube channel. If you build a strong authoritative channel, you won't have to do that much work on your video rankings as you would have to do with a weak channel. Channel views, subscribers, backlinks,... it all counts together. If you have a lot of subscribers and no channel views, that would be wired.
