Twitter question, following people

How many people can I follow on Twitter before getting my account suspended?
I followed 800 today and that is considered as follow-spamming.
Would I be ok if I do like 100-200 a day?

In all honesty I don't think you need to do 800 i one day that is just way above board, do more like 50-100 people each day and by the end of the month you can be following 3000 people and it will keep you from suspended.

There is not a number. Twitter has there own software that checks certain things. 800 seems like a good number.

Now what happens is this. Lets say you follow 1,000 members and only 50 are following you. This triggers twitter and until your followers catch up a little they will not let you add any more.

As long as you are using human means to get twitter followers I would not worry about it. Twitter takes into account how fast the follow button is pushed and so forth, it can distinguish between software and humans.

I think keeping the numbers low to no more than 50 per day would be better. I hate following people in return if it looks like they're just out trying to follow a ton of people to build their own numbers...and you also want to have some similarities of interest with people you follow on Twitter.

Thanks for all the great info so far. I made a new account just now, and followed 52 people. I'll keep with the 50 people a day. And I've only followed people with an interest in marketing/internet marketing
Also, is any1 experiencing problems with adding an image to their profile? It gives me an error.

I follow NO MORE than 350 people per day.

Sure, Twitter SAYS you can follow 800 per day, but as you found out for yourself, thats not true. They will suspend you in a heartbeat.

Keep it under 350 per day and use realistic delays if you're using software to do the following. You will be fine.

I'm not using software, but I'll keep that in mind to expand the delays and not add 800 of them at the same time.
Also, is it allowed to post your squeeze page in a tweet?

It depends on how you're doing it..

If you're gonna be promoting affiliate links, CPA offers, etc. to people then you need to space them out. Meaning mix them up with "normal" tweets (tweets that are relevant to your niche, but they arent promoting anything)

You should also use some of the normal tweets to re-tweet other people's stuff. Not only does it count as a "normal" tweet, but you're interacting with the community. People will be more likely to re-tweet your links if they see you retweeting theirs.

There is a lot more to twitter marketing than people think.

You can also use advanced geotargeting.. but thats another story. Lesson time is over, I gotta go pay the rent.. blah. lol good luck man!

I use software to Follow and Unfollow about 500 people per day
    and have had no problems.

I think it's like most tools. It's how you use them.
