Frank Kern New image...

71 replies
Hi guys,

I've been deleting some lists from my inbox, as it were, but am still on Frank Kerns. Woke up this morning and checked mail on my iPhone...to see a new email. 'The State of the Interner address...from Frank.

Not been able to view the video as yet, but what intrigues me is the design of the page. I do value contenct over image, but the page does get my creative juices flowing.

And no I'm not a FK groupie...

Can a fellow warrior here say how a background image is embeded like Frank Kern presents "The State Of The Internet".

Any help would be appreciated.
James

    I can do it. But, it would take some coding skills. So, it's not something that can be explained in a forum post easily.

    I've just watched the new Kern video. It's really good, plus if you hang about at the end there's another video worth watching too.

    Absolute positioning relative to cented wrapper with a negative margin

    background: transparent url(http:// pathto/file.jpg);

    Nothing unusual about that.

    However there's a huge trade off, since people with a slow internet connection would have to wait seconds for the images to load.

      If you don't know how to do it manually, I believe it can be done in a few clicks with something like XSitePro and (probably) most of the better-known HTML builders too.

      I'll add:

      the effect can only be done if the image is a png file with transparency.

      and looking at the css for that portion (used google chrome>Inspect element):

      #Frank {
      position: absolute;
      margin: -140px 0 0 58px;
      background: transparent url(http://wpc.4390.edgecastcdn.net/0043...2012/frank.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
      -webkit-animation-name: animation2;
      -webkit-animation-duration: 1.4s;
      height: 1218px;
      width: 641px;
      display: block;
      }

      As Soren said, it's only absolute positioning coupled with a png file with transparency.

      What dimensions would the image need to be?

      Thanks,

      Nothing wrong with this. I actually think Frank Kern Does it better.

      I do hate rehashed clickbank stuff, but the good clever marketers, and I mean those that are rich, do not re-invent the wheel...just like our good friend Frank "I spit at flat surf" Kernie boy.

      If you can repackage other peoples work and make it 10 times better and add your own spin to it, and new information then you have done your job as a marketer, I believe.

      Infact, I think Frank Kern does a pretty good job of it, I know he does it, but still have 1 or 2 of his products.

      Do not learn from Kerns products....learn from how he markets and emails, and launches stuff. I have every frank kern email he has ever sent me. Do not do what the gurus say....do what they do. That is where the secret lies. Trust me, that same info made me 6 figures last year...and will do the same this year. Yes the gurus have some cool content and you will learn lots...but study what they do....that is 10 times more powerful and will make you money hand over fist.

      Wow that last bit of info I just gave is priceless. Can't belive I just gave it away in here for FREE....oh well. Hope you can go out and use it to make some of the green stuff!

        Celente, that is indeed excellent advice.

        Please don't take this the wrong way but anyone with a marketing mind is doing that anyway and I've seen it mentioned here many times. Caliban will testify to that, as I've read at least one post where he's said this.

        One thing I realised some time back when I went through one of Jeff Walkers earlier PLF launches, was that I'd just bought a course on how Jeff had made me buy the course in the first place .

        I can believe you gave it away for free, because it's right there in front of everyone anyway.

    @MaryKathan,

    Reckon its as easy as going to his website FrankKern.com Hope this helps.

    Just watched the video and registered for the webinar...I do get a wee buzz watching his videos, and as to him ripping off others, I know, I read of the trouble he had in the past. All of his making. and I know he wears it as a suit of armur sometimes... But the way he comes across, and frames his presentations, is quite (for me) inspirational. As a magician and busker, I use pack dynamics, and crowd pulling techniques in my work that I am moving forward to using online, and take inspiration from where I can find it. I found it with Franks. As with others...

    Onward and upward, to infinity and beyond...

    I also question that he has added that much "value" to people's lives like he claims. Now I know he has added value to other marketers for sure, but c'mon...he sells niche products. I'm sure he probably does massive CPA and PPV campaigns as well. Is there real value in that besides making a ton of money on quick offers?

    But anyway he spins it, Frank is one of the very few guys I will listen to. I like the rough and rugged "surfer" Frank of the past more than this new slicked up, Mercedes driving guy. But hey, it's still Frank.

    By the way, I haven't heard much from Trey lately. I wonder what he is up to?

      How has he not added value? How has the information he released on marketing not help make so many people a ton of more money which has dramatically improved their lives?

      The free content he gives away is more valuable than the stuff many would pay for.

      From what i know, he mostly works in a more consulting capacity now to high paying clients.

      On another note - i've not received a single email from Frank since September. I dunno why that could be - i even re-signed up again, and i never even got a notification for his state of the internet address. If i wasn't following him on Facebook - i wouldn't have known about it.

      Has this happenned to anyone else?

    Good old Irwin must be laughing his ass off. I've lost count of how many times he's gone over how he failed at every legit business venture until he got into GROTI (get rich on the internet schemes) and then how he's now saying things like JV deals etc are a waste of time LOL (the very things that have made him rich). Sucking money out of the world's most gullible people (biz opp, make money online etc) is nothing to be that proud of.

    And that address crap is just part of a sales funnel that he openly advocates using to suck out as much cash from people as possible.

    1 - Pre framing (pretending to be more important than you are)

    2 - Indoctrination (get as many gullible fools to believe what you say)

    3 - Conversion (hit them on the back end - in the case of his latest address he then offered a cut price version of video black box)

    It happens right in front of people's eyes.

      Frank's been very open about his past. Including all the bad stuff, the lawsuits etc.

      His business model isn't dependent upon JV's. Yes, he has used them in the few major product launches he has done with Mass Control & List Control - but that is about it. He doesn't rely on it.

      Over the past year, he's been testing various 'under the radar' stuff out selling his products to his list, without anyone promoting any of it - and he's been doing just as great as ever.

          So you are insulting the intelligence of those on Frank's list & his masses of incredibly satisfied customers, as well.

          There would be a big problem if he was peddling crap, and since he isn't - you don't see many complaining about him, unless they are rather anti-guru or just don't like him for some reason..

    For my .02 cents I have benefited greatly from Frank Kern. I have only purchased his $6 book he had some time ago. As mentioned by Celente above, watch how he ( as with others at the top of their game) do what they do, instead of blindly purchasing.

    There are lessons to be learned just in that.

    Am I gullible....have I spent $$ on wso's that I don't use, as well as a $$$ a training course. Yes yes and yes again. Is the majority of the information I have purchasedavailable for free elsewhere, no doubt. Does my learning curve get shortened by having purchased some of what I have. Have I been inspired, have I been entertained, have I found 'that lightbulb moment', have I got absolute faith in my path. All yes.

    Others may be as gullible, but who am I to say they haven't derived any benefit from what they may have purchased...from any sales person. Not for me to say.

    But anyway...re the configuration on the page, some helpful advice there Ebet, thanks.

    Off now to look at my pages editor and such...

    Frank Kern's products aren't cheap but for the great value and information they offer - most people that actually apply it will benefit from it.

    Like someone else said, whether he is sucking people up for money, that's up for debate. I know he's helped many who do make a good comfortable living.

    I also prefer surfin' style Frank. When I saw that background pic of him, I couldn't help but to think of "Days of our lives" soap opera. I'm not knocking it though, I might style that look when I get older. =D

    Dear Frank, the video was stellar but in order to complete the effect you were looking for, the round logo should have been behind your head making you appear Godlike with a halo. Bringing a couple stone tablets down off that mountain in the second video would have been cool, but a little on the nose.

    Frank has the status he has today in IM because of one simple skill: He knows the human mind. And he's very good at using it to his advantage.

      He made his money by rehashing a load of stuff off Dan Kennedy and some vague marketing theory you could get in a $15 book off amazon. And of course, being perfectly aware of just how gullible most people in the biz opp/make more money online niche really are. Once he got over his indictment by the FTC, he refined and honed his hustle accordingly.

          It's hideous and funny at the same time, but really, it's what the market deserves. If people want to throw $2k at someone who makes money by telling other people how to make money then good for them. I bet they must laugh themselves to sleep every night.

        If you stick around, the video at the end is really cool. Sure, he's plugging something, but it was very motivational in a good way and loving.

        What I was interested in was his little NLP stuff that he does. He's no stranger to using subliminal imagery. I noticed behind him were 3 items. 1 is a picture of someone that I cannot make out. The next is a box of wrist watches, and the 3rd is a picture of Bruce Lee, which has appeared in many of his videos.

        I wonder if the watches (positioned directly behind him) implies "watch" as in watch this video to hold attention. He continuously uses the word "ju jitsu", even though Bruce Lee was the originator of Jeet Kune Do. I'm curious who the man in the other picture is. Oh well, maybe I'm just looking too much into it.

          Interesting thoughts, ha ha. Like it.

          And, this is getting way off topic even more on this thread, but most people have no idea what Jeet Kune Do is, so that wouldn't work as an effective method if Frank was really saying "jui jitsu" over and over for a subliminal reason.

          It's not like Bruce Lee didn't know jui jitsu or ever practice it, though.

          Although Kung Fu style was probably more his thing before he originated his own style.

            Haters gonna hate and I doubt Frank cares. I'm on his list, friended him on FB and I would rather learn from someone that has had the tremendous success that he has than someone hawking a $7 WSO.

            I think they might have used OptimizePress for the page. You can also opt in for the webinar and I'm sure you'll be put on one of Frank's lists. I have been on a few of his webinars and they are not prerecorded and he does answer questions live at the end... and I know he's live because he answered a couple of my own questions after a webinar.

    Wow, the real main push of my thread was to hopefully get advice on how to embed an image. It was answered helpfully by some, some extraneous advice by others( very helpful...thanks Chris...again), but for some seems to turn into a slag fest...

    I could understand the comments if some here had been 'scammed', taken advantage of, or been done bad by FK, but apart from this not being the place, I reckon its egregious to do so.

    To my thinking (2 year newbie...with no $$ results as yet) Frank is a salesperson. He sells products. You either buy or don't buy. If you buy and it's a pig in a poke...get a refund. If on the other hand it's not, and it's all down to inaction, then we build our own wee hole. Not Franks fault, or any other well known marketeer fault.

    I know from reading some of the posts above that BIG lessons can be learned, just from how 'he' does what he does. And for that I am grateful.

    Anyway, thanks to all who have replied, I'm sure all the comments have helped someone along the way.

    My raison d'terre for initiating the thread was to hopefully get some helpful advice on how to embed an image (not flash) on the page as Frank has. I have had the pleasure of some helpful advice and have thanked those accordingly.

    Nice to see that it gets hijacked though by those wishing to defame and 'blast' what FK does, and allude to what other 'gurus' do.

    And yes I 'get it'...selling information, however its packaged, whilst using the information therin to teach how its done is a business model in of itself.

    FK is at the top of his game I assume...and the fact that I feel his presentations 'speak to me', makes me feel that I can attain a modicum of success in my area/niche, by using the same psychology.

    As said, Im a busker and do know how to generate a large crowd during my show. Using what I have gratefully learned here, and my online education elsewhere, will hlep me seque, an offline crowd to an online audience

    But I digress...

    I just like the look of an embeded jpeg or png on page, rather than just a pucture, and wanted to ask how to acomlish it. Im busy foloowing up on some info given here, but if anyone else can help please do.

      James, you can accomplish the effect on Frank's page with a little simple CSS styling that looks something like this:

      body {
      margin: 0;
      padding: 0;
      background: url(path/to/image.png) no-repeat top left;
      background-color: #ffffff;
      }

      Just modify the style.css file for the page and drop in the code above.

      The code is pretty self explanatory, but you would use an image that fades to white on the right side and bottom to give it that ghosting effect as it blends with the white page background.

      Edit: with a fixed width and centered div on your page it will appear superimposed over top of the background image.

      Hope this helps.

    The right message, to the right market, at the right time? Frank has definitely been hanging with Dan Kennedy.

    Frank's stuff is always cool though, and he helped me alot many years ago after getting on his list. Back then he was putting aweber opt in forms on Directory Generator (remember that one?) pages and then selling niche affiliate products via screen capture videos. Sounds like no big deal now, but this was before the domain YouTube.com was even registered and video was not being used at all in affiliate marketing. And his free videos do have alot of value in them too.

    @Paul. Thanks for that. I'm building a page using Headways grid system which I've had before they upgraded and that's got some extra functionality to it. But after having said that, I'll look at the CSS and the coding you mentioned.

    I've got a long term project I'm on and this campaign, although is a bit of a sidetrack, will hopefully generate some $$ to invest. Trying to grow from profit as they say.

    Thanks again to those who have given freely of their time and advice

    I think that's perfectly reasonable. Why wouldn't you want to pay $2k to find out how someone just got you to pay $2k? I have bought two $2k products in the past, and am making six figures because of what I've learned from them. One of them was Frank's. I'd call that a pretty damn good ROI.

    I don't understand why everyone wants to bash him for succeeded more at the exact same thing we're all doing. It's like if someone makes over a million a year, they MUST be a scam artist. There is no deceit in Frank's videos. He shows you exactly what he does for a living. People keep saying things like, "Don't do what he tells you, do what he does." But, he DOES do what he tells you, they are the same thing! The difference is that his market is MMO and your's might be something else. That's it.

    Out of all the people who bash big shots like Frank Kern, I wonder how many have actually invested in a $2000 product? Probably not very many. It's just easier to be so skeptical. It takes courage to try out an expensive course and follow through and take action on what you've learned.

    Also, for the people who are saying that he is ripping off or rehashing other's work, you should make note of the fact that Frank Kern is in a mastermind group with all the big name guys. They meet and teach each other new techniques to share with their customers. There is bound to be some overlap between the good ideas you hear from two big name marketers. There is a reason for that overlap, the ideas work!

      I'm not convinced that the word "courage" could be used in all circumstances.

      There are some people who might purchase products that cost thousands which aren't worth their price tag.

      For most who can afford to spend $2k so readily on a course, they are likely to already have a bit of cash to throw around and thus isn't much of a courageous hit to the wallet anyways.

      I'm pretty sure that if I spent 2k on any course I'd go at it tooth and nail to make it work for the sole fact I've just spent 2k. Does that give the content alone the value, or does the pricetag force a person to bring it to fruition? I guess the answer doesn't matter for as long as it fetches the desired results but it's food for thought nonetheless...

        Right, I didn't mean ANY $2,000 product. Of course not all products are created equally. I agree with you there. But, one of Frank's is easily worth it, the proof is in the results of a lot of his students.
