My Dear Warriors,

I was searching for the answer to this question for long time.

Is it proper keyword research or optimized landing page creation or well written SEO articles or mass article submissions or is there something else?

I always kept wondering that what it takes one person to succeed in article marketing?

Why so many people fail in BUM marketing or Article Marketing and very few get the coveted success in it?

What is that ONE THING Factor which separates one successful article marketer from the rest of the wannabe marketers and pushes him ahead of his competition ?

In order to find that ONE THING I actually thought of carrying out a small Article Marketing campaign in this month. On 1st Jan 2009, I began my marketing campaign.

But unlike others I decided not to go for multiple niches and like 10 articles a day which makes your brain fry and thoughtless.

Rather I selected only one niche which is an all time high demand niche market.and I wrote only 1 article a day with highly relevant and targeted content.

Before doing keyword research I performed proper Market Research by going to places like Yahoo Answers,Niche Forums and Related Authority Sites in that Niche.

These are the actual useful places for a marketer like us where real people talk about their real life problems and you can easily spot the related important keywords there.

As Mr. Steven Wagenheim once said " If you want to become successful article marketer in your niche then don't write for Search Engines; instead write for the people or targeted audience in that niche."

This is 100% true. and I got the actual data to prove this.

Here is my Jan 01 , 2009 Article Marketing Stats :


Article Submitted : 30 (Only but highly targeted)

Article Views : 4662

CTR : 21%

And the most important,

Revenue Generated : More than $300 (And still Counting...)

This is only for one niche and only 30 articles...

Imagine if you target only 2-3 high demand niches every month and study those niches properly, then you will become a powerful niche authority in that field. People will respect your opinions and you make long term, automatic income in that niche.


This is what happening in my niche right now...

Here to add one more point that I don't deny the importance of proper keyword research. But I strongly feel that Keyword research should not be your first point of Article Marketing Campaign. Rather you should be able to learn the HOT, in demand keywords which you can get from niche forums and Yahoo answers.

I mean come on isn't it the demand of the actual people? They are actually explaining their problems and asking you for a solution to it. They are actually handing you the gold mine and you just have to dig it out properly with proper tools.

In a summary , I will only say that Gone are those days of Keyword stuffing articles with 3-5% keyword density. Now search engines look for more topic related and audience friendly articles. So you should give them what they want and this is the real secret of success in article marketing IMHO.

    Are you promoting a CB product on your niche or Adsense? Is it just a one page landing page for a product that visitors come to from your article's resource box? Do you have any other articles on your site? So did you just submit 1 article a day to just one article directory, i.e. Ezinearticles?

    Thanks for sharing this wonderful secret. Now I can see every body rushing to Yahoo! answers and niche forums for their keyword research. But my question is, do people use the same keyword in search engine and Yahoo! answer? However, the content quality will be higher if you are really solving people's problems rather than writing some generic and boring stuff.

    Yes, I am only promoting CB Products for a while. (No Adsense)

    I have designed only one content landing page consisiting of useful and targeted content for the readers in that niche. The landing page itself serve as a content presell page.


    Yes, till this time I was only submitting 1 article a day to EZA. But thinking of expanding my reach now...

    Yes, People sharing their problems at YAHOO answers and niche forums are the same people searching relevant info at search engines. I mean this is the general trend yet.

    If your content quality is higher and targeted to your audience then I don't see any problems people reading your article with full interest and clicking to your site link in the bio box. That will be highly targeted traffic and your conversion ratio will be much higher.

    well with keyword research, arent you searching for market demand in the first place, giving people the answer that they are looking for and therefore fulfilling a need? I always thought that... but then again I haven't had a chance to see the fruits of my labor because Ezines is still reviewing my articles

    Anyway my opinion on this matter is that this is just one way to go about getting revenue with articles and I congratulate you

    I have to agree with the OP about writing for the people and not for the search engines. Done the right way, article marketing can give you huge rewards.

    It was only yesterday that I read about a person who was making 700$ a day only using article marketing ( he had posted that in the success forum of wealthy affiliate) and he is using his articles to presell and he can do that only if he knows what they want.

    Find out what the market wants.
    That is one of the most important things being taught in wealthy affiliate and in warrior forums.
    Pay attention to this and you will start making more sales than ever.

      When I post an article at Ezinearticles.com, I like to include the keywords in front of the article, like, when I write a blog marketing article, I put "Blog Marketing Tip - my article title comes here."

      The good thing about this technique is that your article will also show up in the articles list when people search for your keywords, and your article may get a click from there.

    I am not saying that you don't optimize your articles for your specified keywords but I just want to say that targeted content is much more important when it comes to higher conversion ratio. Because keywords attract traffic but depth of content is what it converts that traffic.

      Exactly!
      We have to think about 2 things:
      1. Traffic and
      2. Converting that Traffic to sales.

      Getting traffic without getting conversions wont help you at all.
