Fiverr - the place to be?

I have been using fiverr for some time now and I have managed to get some good business there. Most people think that you cannot make much money using fiverr - I guess that they dont know how to leverage the few dollars they make - against other markets (including offline). I recently saw some ebooks on the WSO saying things like 12K a month using fiverr - I do leverage fiverr well but I dont think it can be leveraged to that extent - what do you guys think?

Absolutely possible in my opinion, you just need to organize everything and lower as much as possible the mannual work. 12k/m is $400/day and I know people doing it already.

More than 1 account of course.

    Cheers,

Very true, working at fiverr is a great place to start! I love it. I try to give my costumers as much as I can for there five dollars in order to get repeating costumers. Work hard and you will be able to get a lot out of fiverr.com! Rinse and repeat

Fiverr does encourage you to work hard - but to leverage well - we have to work smart right - Now dont get me wrong here - a lot of people misunderstand when you say "work smart" they think you mean that you dont work AT ALL - so thats NOT what I'm sayin'

You must buy a lot of costumes!

Customer: a person or organization who buys goods or services from a store or business or other.
Costumer: a person who makes costumes.

I have great success with Fiverr, both as a service provider and a buyer. Managed to get some incredible services like logo and professional web design at an amazingly low price. All the service providers that I choose have good ratings i.e. more than 10 jobs completed and 100% positive feedback from all the clients.

For my own services, I always upsell and my $4 nett fee per gig, has even led to a $270 sale in the one instance. Yes indeed, leveraging is the key to success on Fiverr.

Not necessarily - you have the "tip gig" and also gigs where you can upfront ask for more than one gig at at time - this is just for normal guys - top rated sellers can make much more

The reality is that the majority of the fiverr gigs are automated, so how long does it take you to enter the information into your software and hit the enter button.

In the UK the minimum wage works out at about $10/hour, so even to be on minimum wage, you are only looking at 20 gigs a day, so if it is all automated, that's not a lot of work, and when you aren't doing your fiverr stuff you can be doing something else that earns bigger money if you want to be.

I used to make a lot of money off fiverr, but I've mostly moved on. The only gigs I have running can all be done in less then five minutes. Competition has gotten more intense, and be honest I find it far more profitable to just use the services, then actually work there anymore.

For someone just entering IM though, it's a great place to earn some income and gain experience.

Anything is possible but I just did research on fiverr and the top sellers. Not hard to find, most popular best ranking ect. I then well let me show you. Below is a guy who has been on fiverr for 7 months. It tells me this so this is how I know. Here is his stats and he is the most popular right now.

    GIG
    RATING 100%
    2579
    1
    EXPECTED
    DELIVERY 1 DAY ORDERS
    IN QUEUE7 SELLER RATING 100%
    JOINED 7 MONTHS AGO

So we have 2579 gigs in 7 months so 2579 x 5 = 12,895 / 7 = 1,842.14 for a month, now take out the 20 percent gig fee and the paypal fees. So I do not see anyone making 12,000 a month on fiverr. I didnt say it wasnt possible I just can not find one is all.
The link to the seller is I will give you 400+ Facebook likes/fans on your Fan page and I will Promote your Page or website to 10,000 facebook Users for $5 on fiverr.com

I kinda agree with you - it's not that easy. 12k is a lot considering you only get paid $5 for a service. but some warriors are claiming here that they know someone so, who am I to argue?

I should of said he has other gigs but I go to those too and he only has two others with minimal sales. So even with fees taken out he is still only making about 1800 a month, nothing to bark at since he is using software I'm sure for his gigs. But no where close to 12,000.

Fiverr is a good lead generation tool if you can get some gigs that require minimal work on your part but that deliver high client satisfaction. You can then upsell your clients on other things you offer, and if they like you, they'll probably take you up on it. I'm sure people can make as much money as they care to there if they put in the work. I prefer to use it for outsourcing, though. For the price, it can't be beat, especially once you find some good service providers (and I have my "starred" list of favorite providers I go to again and again).

Bein an active Fiverr buyer I already spent $200 in two months time which is more than I usually do.
Its possible to make money out of it if you create a fiverr gig that drwas the attention and from there you can promote your other gigs too.

It's a great spot to use as a lead generation, however, to make a full time income off of it is going to require many, many hours, and in the end, I'm not sure how profitable that would be for you.

Just like any freelance site they don't want you working outside of their site, but really if you're ever going to build a freelance business, you do have to work direct with clients at some point.

Essentially Fiverr is charging you a 20% fee just to use their services. $1 is taken out of every transaction so you net $4.

It's good when you have a strategy in place and use it as a starting point. Or if you could careless about the money and just are very passionate about something there is absolutely nothing wrong with that either.

People can make a solid income on Fiverr...just what is your long range plan for bringing people to hire sales packages.

Many people on Fiverr when they deliver their order always recommend other services off site. They direct the customer to another page that offers higher end services and products...that compliment what they just bought. Matt

While I am not one to make money on Fiverr, I have used it to outsource a good amount of work. For those of you looking for more work through 'Gig Sites', check out jobreapr. It's a search engine of 20 or so Gig sites, including Fiverr, Tenbux, and gigbux. A few of these gig sites allow you to have a wider range of prices for your gigs.

As a consumer using Fiverr, I am underwhelmed!

I had a logo desgigned that clearly did not satisfy the specs, even with a high rating this contractor chose to not respond to any follow-up, the gig was marked completed (as it does automatically and you as a buyer have no say in it doing so). Now there is no way to challenge the charge.

So, I went to Paypal and challenged the charge, within 5-minutes Fiverr sends me a snotty email about terminating my account.

So that's how well they look after their customers.

I will challenge it even more now and lodge an official complaint to Paypal and possible further - not for the $5 (I could care less), but for the point of running a crappy business model.

You can actually cancel a gig if you are not satisifed with the delivery within Fiverr's own system. Because you did not know how to do this and did not use the cancellation order function within their own system that's why they were upset.

It's because you didn't know how to do this that you are blaming Fiverr.

You say it can't be done, but it can!

edit: I think the correct term is "reject" a gig after delivery.

edit again: So to sum up Fiverr thinks you are trying to rip them off and also rip off the gig seller as they have a way for you to reject the gig, even though it may not be as clear a function as it should be (actually glad it isn't so clear or more people would probably try to rip off gig sellers by just rejecting gigs). Should have tried support first!

Why is 14 days ridiculous? When you have a "JOB" in the real (offline) world... Usually you get your paycheck every 14 days (sometimes 7)... How is it different from that? Clickbank also pays every 7-14 days... Not sure why people have a problem with that when it comes to Fiverr or related sites?

There is a lot of earning potential on Fiverr but it just depends on your temperament to work for other people. Most people on the site are on low budgets so the earnings may not be high, unless you are exceptional at what you do. I think Fiverr has some great talent though.

For me, Fiverr was a place to get experience. After my big article writing client died off, I needed to find a new way of make money online, and quickly discovered that copywriting was the most profitable gig for a writer. Providing mini sales pages, squeeze pages and press releases on Fiverr was what allowed me to build up the portfolio that I leveraged to start my current business.

    EDIT:

Oh, and one other comment. I ordered a book cover off of Fiverr and it turned out awesome.

Fiverr might be a decent place to get some stuff done. But I think most people selling services there end up painting themselves into a corner. They get the "fiverr" mentality and can never seem to break free from low paying gigs.

I'd really like to know how it's possible to earn $400/day on fiverr. It's not that I believe it can't be done. But I'm guessing with all the competition there it ain't as easy as some are saying.

yes you are right, you are never going to get rich selling $5 gigs on the corner street of the internet.

I have used fiverr and become the middle man. That is, use fiverr as the supplier and find someone that is demanding something. There is so much money in this, and heck you hardly have to do any work, just find the two parties. Whoops, I cannot believe I just gave that information away.

Ok wasn't going to divulge my info.
How to make fiverr work for you. Get a software program that can get tweets or facebook fans.
Now set up a opt-in mini very mini squeeze page with a form on it.
After they buy direct them to the page to fill out the form for there order.

Now the twist some sites don't have just five dollars they have dollar to whatever. buyagig.com is has a totally free section. There about 5 fiverr sites that you can actually make money on. Put your product on at least five sites have at least five gigs.

Ramp up the volume if you know what I mean. You can make money and collect emails all in one and not pay one red cent sometimes.

P.S. if you read my bio you will see I'm the masked marketer right now. I do not want to divulge who I am, I think I have to work and help here before I capitalize on this forum but it is coming soon and you will be the first to get everything I have for free. Add me and you can see when it happens.

The 12k I've seen on the WSO thread wasn't for a month from what I remember! it was the overall sum .

In 1 month..I don't think it's possible to make 12k but in 2-3 months yes. And that gets to 4k a month which is pretty darn good from $4.

But the thing is to offer something good and fast to deliver. You can see many gigs that just went downhill because the seller didn't realize that in order to deliver one order he needs to spend a lot of time doing the job.

What people need to quit thinking is Fiverr, Fiverr, Fiverr... Think in terms of micro worker websites. There are hundreds but take the top ten and concentrate on them, have about 10 different gigs post five gigs on each site. Do this, make twists to your gigs. over deliver at first, over deliver in your sale and then over deliver when they order. You will soon get up there. Is 12,000 a month possible, yes. The four minute mile was said to be impossible at one time. Do I think I will see it, no I do not but does not mean its not possible.

The key is not to go crazy while you're doing it Fiverr is great though. I've had some great people help me out with expert knowledge for the price of a burger!

I completely agree, ofcourse making a decent amount of money on Fiverr is certainly possible. But there are just so many people offering the same things. And obviously... for the same price.

Yes it's possible to make that kind of money with fiverr (Definitely you will need more than 1 gig)

Important thing to take note is, when offering services on fiverr, make sure it's something very easy to accomplish, things which can be done within 5 - 10mins MAX.

If you are offering a gig that cannot be done within such a short amount of time and requires some brain power for instance: Writing an article , 500 words and above etc.. then fiverr shouldn't be a place for you.. it's not wise to spend your valuable time like this.

Hope this help, may God bless you

How do you get the first sales? I can't get any. Which means no feedbacks, feedback is king on there I think.

Try to find a product that you can deliver fast. Time is money after all.
If you can deliver a product in 5mins then $5 for 5 minutes work isn't actually that bad. It works out at $60 per hour. Deliver the product in 2 mins and you are looking at $150 dollars an hour. Now it doesn't sound like a bad income.

There is a But though. Only deliver high quality products. Ill give you an example. If you have a high PR blog with advertising space why not provide a gig offering a text link advert on the side bar for $5 for one month. The time to perform this gig is probably around 2 minutes but the gig is a quality gig providing a benefit for your customers.

Personally Id avoid running gigs that take me more than ten minutes as time is valuable. Also remember that fiverr deduct one dollar so you are getting $4 for your time.

From a buyer perspective, Fiverr can be a great place to develop relationships with outsourcers. This way you can build up an entire team that have different skill sets rather than trying to find everything you need in just 1 or 2 people. It's a great resource as well as fun to look at the listings.

I love fiverr but STRICTLY as a buyer. There is so much opportunity to win with their systems its crazy. I've made good money using fiverr and I never Posted gig before = ) think outside the box when you hit fiverr. I mean I can land there and see a business start up almost instantly from the work others are willing to do. You can look at it like you own personal lead gen platform and gather clients with your gigs and take $4 now and promote something huger later? Start gathering your list and build a following with your buyers.

I used fiverr as a lead generator, every couple of sales I turned a $5 customer into a $100 customer. You'd be surprised at the things that happen if you get the chance to open a dialogue with consumers. Getting their ear is much more valuable than $5.

What are your skills? What are you willing to do? What markets are you in? All of these factor into the success you will have with a site like Fiverr. Just like any site, Fiverr is a tool. It's great and perfect for some... but the wrong tool for others. If used correctly it can yield great results though.

If you think of Fiverr gigs as loss leaders, you can establish long term relationships with your customers, if you do a good job and give good value!

It definitely has the potential to be a great time saver once you have found the right gig, the only problem that I have found is that many new people to internet marketing are directed to Fiverr as a way to make some money. This has caused the marketplace to become quite saturated with poor quality gigs, however once you find a seller you are happy with it is definitely worth it!

Getting the first 10 sales in Fiverr and getting some positive reviews is the key to get success in Fiverr. Once you do that it will become an easy journey as seller.
